Deck Description

A standard fast black sacrifice deck. There are fume spitters for control. Death cultist for life gain. Blade of the blood chief to power up one of the 11 vampires in the deck. verdant catacombs to get bloodghast back. the whole game all this sacrificing will make bloodthrone and the beetle big. I already play tested it and it is awesome. I will continue trying to make it better. If they have many planeswalkers you can sub in vampire hexmage and take them out. If you are playing multiplayer then just replace doom blades with grave pact. If all other players sacrifice creatures it still powers up mortician beetle.

Have you considered grasp of darkness in place of doom blade?, if only as a sidedeck against black.

why are you using a filter/fetch land in mono black, it makes no sense your sacking life for nothing, i mean if you want to thin your deck you can use the tap version. but using either makes no sense cuz your not filtering and pure thinning doesnt work with the fetch land mechanic. what your doing at that point is just discarding. so you might as well use a draw card mechanic instead. or just put in 4 swamps

It is for the purpose of getting bloodghast and thinning the deck. 1 life for the benefits are more than enough especailly since i have some availiable. You dont have to put them in there

I just got 2 demon at death's gate, what do you guys think I should take out to put them in?

I really wouldn't worry to much about throwing him in, the deck should run fine without him. Congrats on hit the 50 likes mark.

Grave Pact! All that sacing would just ruin a creature based deck...

I have three copies of the card and it is awesome, but unfortunately not standard. If you are playing multiplayer, replace the doom blades for 3 grave pacts. mortician beetle reads whenever ANY player sacrifices a creature put a counter on it, so if you are playing with 4 other people and you sac just one creature mortician beetle gets +5/+5.

Why did you take out the crypt of argetium?

It was too slow, this is meant to be aggro and I didnt need that much mana

For standard this deck looks awesome! I have some suggestions that are out of standard though, just reply if you want to hear them. If you have a chance would you mind looking at my sac deck? http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=132603

I really like it. I'm just curious how you get land out though with only 19 in there, although with a load of 1 and 2 cost cards I can see how it wouldn't be hard. If you'd like to take the time to look at my deck and give some advice I'd love it. it's http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=144830

I'm working a vamp demon combo.

Most my spell cost only one. just look at my mana curve. I only need 2 mana for my deck to work

I honestly didn't notice that until I saw your comment, 3 for the DoDG, and that's your big bomb. Honestly I'd really like to play test this with my Vamp Demon deck once I get the mana curve, and the method of play down correctly. I'm still not sure of mine though, simply because I need a few more mana for my Consuming Vapors. And honestly I'm itching to give this a shot between the two.

I run a very similar deck (the theme seems popular) that's also standard. My win condition is either the Demon, enough sacrificing to keep the Beetles beefy, and Liliana as backup. I actually sideboarded the Disentombs because unless my game is going poorly, I really don't need them.

http://mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=125086

A couple things I use that I love.

1. Consuming Vapors. It gives you a bit of relief in the life loss from Sign in Blood and the demons, and can possibly whack two creatures. Your beetles will love it.

2. Gatekeeper of Malakir. Same thing, forcing opponent sacrifice is a great way to build up your beetles, and reduce the player's threat level.

I'm curious how you find the Blade/Vampire combo working. While the deck is built around sacrificing my own creatures for power, I find the self-sacrifice abilities (unless it's to pop the DoDG) much more powerful and useful to keeping my battlefield populated. Still though, if you are running 4 Bloodghasts, you won't run out of sacrificial targets :)

The blade is amazing, half the time i win just because of that. I have more than half my cards are vampires, they get so big.

the blade is a beast card! i dunno if you're trying to keep it standard but you can always add dark rituals and buried alive, buried alive so you can drop your bloodghast to the graveyard and then drop a land and bam you have 3/4 of your bloodghast out t2-t4

I am trying to keep it standard, because its the deck I use at FNM. I would definatly use those cards if it wasn't standard

With all your ways to sacrifice you should look into Abyssal Persecutor, and as stated earlier Gatekeeper of Malakir is always good if you run Mortician Beetle in your deck and can be used with your Blade as well.
