Shard volley, instant speed lightning bolt that costs one red and you sacrifice a land, perfect for this deck.

Oh yea. I forget that one. :x
Cosmic Larva.
that would fit well
If you're gonna play Crucible, might as well play Shard Volley.
K it's a great deck/concept in my opinion, however with a few changes I think it could be better. For starters I don't think the Fetchs are all that beneficial to you, the opposite actually. There are a few reasons for this in short it's a mono colored deck and statistics say you don't see the thinning effect until turn 12 if I'm not mistaken. Here are two different articles that support my statement which were written by fellows who did the extensive math involved. There worth a read.http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/print.asp?ID=3096http://magic.tcgplayer.com/db/article.asp?ID=3121So if you do decide to agree with me you can replace the fetchs with basic mountains allowing you to play 2 Blood Moon which is a huge obstacle for many decks. I would -1 Plated Geopede -1 Wildfire for this. Then I would take full advantage of Crucible of Worlds by playing 3 Seismic Assault. I would -1 Plated Geopede -1 Molten Rain and -1 Thundermaw Hellkite for this. In the sideboard all I think you need is 1 or 2 copies of Engineered Explosives which help greatly against Meerfolk, Tokens Affinity. These are simply my opinions take them for what they are, another opinion from stranger "trying" to help. Happy Casting!
Thank you for your comment. But, some of your suggestions break the meaning of this deck.First, i'm using fetches because of the geopode, and with only one fetch + crucible in play i have all lands i need.Second, Blood Moon shut my ghost quarters down, which is my main "win con" with this deck. ;)And last, Seismic Assault actually doesn't work with crucible. Crucible make me able to play them from my graveyard, not to return them to my hand. (=The Explosives are a great addition! Thanks again.
OK I completely forgot to explain my thoughts on Geopede. I see the scenario play out this way. Game 1 you cast a Geopede and your opponent doesn't think much of it. You follow by getting lucky and landing with a 5/5 Geopede. That will be the last time in the match up it will happen, at least in a competitive atmosphere. Modern as meta has a ton of removal and everybody plays it. Geopede doesn't have haste and your deck has no way of protecting him during your opponents turn when it will most likely die. The way I was implying you should play Seismic Assault is as soon as you have it and Crucible of Worlds on the battlefield every land from then on goes graveyard battlefield making all your lands from then on Shocks, with no downfall. At least until your opponent deals with them. As far as Ghost Quarter being the "main" win con I don't see it. It helps greatly to disrupt many decks which relay on specific lands like in Tron but for the most part people keep the proper basics in their decks to play around it. If I'm missing something on the subject please elaborate. If I come off blunt at all it is not my intention.
I may very well be wrong but it just seems so risky putting faith like that in a weak creature in a meta game with so much removal.
OK just thought it over for a bit and maybe I'm taking the wrong approach. Instead of dismissing Geopede perhaps keep it and add some support for it. Like adding Lightning Greaves and Rouse the Mob, Protection/Trample since it always sucks having all damage from a big monster be absorbed into worthless creature.
I apologize for rambling on in your thread BTW. In addition if you could give me some feedback on a deck of mine it would be greatly appreciated. http://www.mtgvault.com/maniacalmaniac/decks/hasty-savage-beating/
I completely just love this deck! I'd build it myself but i work minimum wage so it's a tad too expensive
Epic deck man! Congrats;)
Thank you joao!ps.: Tu é br? hu3
4 shard volley, not 2, it's a four of in a normal burn deck, not to mention one that synergises with lands in the grave
Love the deck man!And speaking of Christmas, if you like Christmas, you should look into this deck!http://www.mtgvault.com/tangey/decks/christmas-in-theros/
Thank you!
Wildfire only for fun?? It's brilliant with Crucible of Worlds actually, so at least use 2 more in the sideboard!..I like the idea of this one anyway...Would you mind checking on my Modern, infinite extra-turns deck?.. : http://www.mtgvault.com/poetmasterx/decks/kikijiki-time-freezer/
How about Devastating Summons and Impending Disaster?!
you know this isnt too far off from a tournament RDW. have you considered seismic strike? i think this would hold its own as is
I could see this work with more land destruction. but nice work still
