Merfolk of the Pearl Trident is a card that goes all the way back to Alpha and it kind of feels like it. There are many more seemingly attractive one-drops in blue. Still, almost any card can find a home in a deck, even if that deck is a bit tricky. After the last rotation, cards like Mind Control and Corrupted Conscience disappeared and new cards appeared like Switcheroo- but the question is what to switch? Why not Merfolk of the Pearl Trident or Kraken Hatchlings or some other seemingly trivial card? You also may need a chump blocker or to draw an opponent into a careless removal. If you are going to pull the switcheroo, you certainly don't want to invest a lot. Switcheroo already costs 5 mana. As tricky to play as this deck is, it does sometimes have its moments. If you decide it's not for you, the sideboard can take the deck in a completely new direction- the Undead Alchemist. Okay, so I've made the UA deck as well, but it's a nice sideboard option. So far Chronic Flooding is proving harder to capitalize on that I had hoped. It works best on utility lands and early game, but tends to work less as the game goes on.

Trading Post seems like it would be good here. You could repeatedly swap Goat tokens and still have access to 3 more abilities.
