Deck discussion for † The Beginning Is The End Is The Beginning †

Alright, first off, I don't advise making a Wish board if you only have one copy of your Wish. It's a bit silly no?
It's expensive as hell, but judging from this and some of your past decks, cost isn't that much of an issue for you. So how about a Grim Tutor in place of Death Wish, and a fourth Enlightened Tutor? I honestly think that Grim Tutor is the best attempt wizards made at trying to get a balanced Demonic Tutor.

If price is an issue, and this is just a sexy stockpile over the years, I'd suggest trying to complete your playset of Enlightened Tutors, and getting maybe a Cruel Tutor. It's not as powerful as Grim, but it's less than $20.00 USD compared to over $150.00 USD

Despite having; five counters, mana denial, Tabernacle, and StP, there's not really a lot of ways to protect yourself against fast aggro. Perhaps taking a look at some XX-Lands, ThopterTop, and Pox lists to get some ideas for dealing with swarms could help?

The best changes I can think of right now(a little groggy still) would be something like this
-1 Crucible of Worlds, +1 Chalice of the Void
-1 Death Wish, +1 Enlightened Tutor
-1 Idyllic Tutor, +1 of either Grim or Cruel Tutor if you're good with five tutors

I know I'm not being as helpful as usual today, which isn't saying much really, but I had a late night. Happy building Mashitta! Always a pleasure to see one of your designs :)

Thanks for the help. I'm pretty aware about having problems with aggros. I really wanted to make this a 3-colored deck but it's really hard to maintain balance within the deck. There are many holes and such. But there's always a certain card that I really wanted in every color. Thus, daring to have it in 3 colors instead XD. The reason why I put in Death Wish there is due of the Sideboard again. I just couldn't let go of my sideboard not being involved in the play. But paying half of the life is really too much problem. I will take your advice and do playtestings.

For the meantime I removed the FOW and make daze into 4. I really had problems with FOW because most of the time there's no extra blue card on my hand. -1 Crucible of the Worlds +1 Chalice of the Void

I put in 2 Mishra's Factory as a blocker. And a potential killer once it was all set. 2 Meekstone too, 1 Gods' Eye, gate to the reikai and Grim tutor.

Could you help me here too?

I've been having a bit of a week, hanging out with friends before college picks back up, so I ask that you forgive my tardiness.

I hear you about always wanting to play your SB, but Death Wish is a risky way to go about that.
How has it been going since you've tweaked it? It seems a good bit more focused now, but still a little loose.

Mishra's Factory is an amazing card, but it's risky in shard or wedge decks. How is that treating you in particular? And THANK YOU SO MUCH Mashitta! I had completely forgotten about Gods' eye! That's wunderbar fur my stax!

I'll check those out in a little bit, I'm trying to catch up on a few things. I'm always happy to try and help you, you're quite the builder already, and I expect that before long your designs will overtake mine. I'm rather looking forward to seeing that :)

Mishra's Factory is quite good. I'm steal doing some playtesting on different cards. Thanks for checking it out ^^,. Don't worry, I'm pretty sure it would take like a century before I become as good as you. Thanks again!!~

Unfortunately there's nothing much I can say, simply because I'm not entirely sure about how did you intend to run this deck. Does it win by milling with Jace? Or by draining with Tezzeret?
Either way, if you encounter troubles with aggro decks - which is likely - my favorite way of slowing them down is using propaganda/ghostly prison. Check them out, you have no idea how many times they saved my sorry ass when using slow combo decks.
Ciao

Yeah, I'm considering that too. This deck locksdown the opponent with Smokestack, and with Crucible of the Worlds on the field, you just recast the lands that you sacrifice. Once the opponent has no more permanents left, you can attack with Mishra's Factory or use the 2 Planeswalkers ability to win. Thanks for the advice Razka! Will look into that.

wow, these decks are getting popular. you used to rarely see them now everytime you go to the website they're on the front page i think the strategy is spreading thus raising awareness of the awesome deck thus causing more people to know how to beat it thus causing more losses for the deck at competitions :O just saying the chain of events that is occuring/going to occur xD just saying
anyway its an awesome deck though it is a specific deck type so i can't really comment on similarity to essensially all other land builds though perhaps you could run gush? it seems like a solid card to add since it is a land deck and it essentailly in this build becomes draw 2 for 0 mana cost so it's solid i enjoy the deck. good luck with the deck. anyway
mind taking a look at my newest legacy build?

this deck looks pretty great.
i would replace daze with either more propaganda/ ghostly prison effects,
oblivian ring, or even moat/ humility to crush the aggro match

maybe you could give me some pointers on my stax deck?
