No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

Deck Description

I have been trying to make a standard mill deck that works. This is what I have so far and I thought I would get help from the Vault community. All comments are welcom.

Deck discussion for Standard Mill?

There are alot of very good cards you can make a standard mill out off. Undead Alchemist is a great card to combo off of, but i would recommend not using it if its all you have for zombies in here.
i made a Zombie Mill deck, its not standard but could easily be changed

If you insist on keeping the Alchemist, then you should consider putting in some Geralf's Mindcrusher

In general i think you should add and remove,

-2 jace +2 Trepanation Blade
-1 dissipate, -1 curse of the bloody tome. +2 Mindcrank

I thought about mindcrank but didnt think i would be doing enough damage to use it. I figured I would have enough zombies with milling there creatures and getting zombies from undead. I completly forgot about Trepanation Blade, that on mindshrieker would be mean. Thanks for the advice definately going to add the blade :)

"Trepanation Blade" & "Mindshrieker" are damage with a mill aftertaste. They both require you to attack so they don't increase your defense.

"Jace's Erasure" is better then "Curse of Bloody Tome" if you have any draw effects. CoBT cost more and mills 2, while JE goes off at draw step, "Ponder", "Thought Scour", and "Jace's Archivist".

I recommend "Jace's Archivist" instead of "Undead Alchemist". UA costs 1 more and mills less. JA forces the opponent to draw cards, which is effectively mill. This is because unless he kills the JA fast those cards will end up in the graveyard. JA also sets off "Jace's Erasure" for each card you draw, which has comparative mill power to "Increasing Confusion". Finally JA can discard Increasing Confusion, which can be a very good thing!

Trade the "Trepanation Blade" for "Unsummon" which synergies with your "Snapcaster Mage", and gives you another type of defense. It can also synergies with "Jace's Archivist" to eliminate enemy creatures and draw you a bigger hand.

To replace "Mindshrieker" I recommend "Æther Adept". It costs 1 more, but removes a threat from the field and gives you a blocker.
