well then... thanks for clearing that up for me. I generally try to know and obey the rules as best i can. That way i can find loop holes lol. well time to rethink some strategies

why would it go away at your draw step? your mana pool doesn't drain until the end of turn.
have you considered Braid of Fire?
I haven't drawn any sample hands so I may change my mind in a minute, but Master of Cruelties and Lyzolda seem kinda unnecessary. Without something to make Master of Cruelties unblockable he could be thwarted pretty easily. Lyzolda's ability is great but its gonna take a bit of mana to work with plus you lose a creature every time. I think the guild mage does a better job here. My suggestion would be to take them out and add something like dying wish. You could put it on Hellhole Flailer and really dish out some damage. With 1 Ashenmoor out and the flailer unleashed it does 6 when sacrificed. drop a dying wish on it a turn before and you do 12 without any extra cost. Just a thought. Great deck, regardless.
You'll have to excuse me, but i'm failing to see what you're saying here. If you use Tormod's Crypt in response to, say, Emrakul's graveyard trigger, it will exile the graveyard. Emrakul can't shuffle the graveyard into your library if there is no graveyard to shuffle
nice deck. You play this IRL?
Third ability, use it in response to Emrakul's triggered ability. He didn't mean it will remove it from play, it'll just stop it from shuffling your opponents graveyard back into his library. But like I just suggested 2 minutes ago. He should use tormod's crypt to do that. The deck is called "and not a creature in sight"... I think he might might be trying to stay away from creatures a bit.
If you're worried about the possibility of a counter mill strategy (i.e. elixir of immortality, Emrakul, etc.) you could always use tormod's crypt or find a way to get a rakdos charm in there. Just a little idea. I do like that you put in psychic spiral though. Great card for if you fight a mill deck yourself.
hmm. I like the idea of culling the weak. But if I lose my zombies like hunted ghoul or gravecrawler it's no big deal. The main killer here is my tokens... I just need a token factory and bad moon. The others are kinda like fodder if they need to be
Why filler?
Ok... so I gotta ask. Why Skirsdag High Priest? Second, with the green that you have in this deck, why not do a little self-mill? Golgari has some ways of doing that, and you have an incredible chance of drawing Shadow born Apostle more than any other card in the deck. and if you already have Immortal Servitude in hand, thats great. I'm not saying drop yourself to 1 card, I'm saying just a few cards here and there. Some cards I had in mind were: Rot Farm Skeleton, Grisly Salvage, Deadbridge Chant, or Jarad's Orders(I like this one Best). All of them put cards in your graveyard. But you wouldn't want too much. so maybe 1 Skeleton. Or maybe 2 Grisly Salvage. A good counter to it, if you managed to put in the wrong cards, is Treasure Find. Just an idea I had while searching through cards. I do think you should Jarad's Orders in, though. Another idea I had was that you could use dying wish as an alternative win strategy or just hurt someone who decided to throw some removal at you. You could also Essence Harvest for the same effect, plus you don't have to lose whatever creature it is that you have beefed up. I'm assuming Bloodthrone Vampire? That's all I got right now. But this deck doesn't really need help. It's a good, solid deck as is. Just maybe top decking too much to start off, is all. I really like it. If you happen to come by my page, some of my decks could use some help, a pair of fresh eyes is always good.
Well see? I'm glad I asked that question. I was gonna go on about the different draw cards he could use. But he seems to have good handle on that given it's Standard. I'm not seeing a way to speed up getting out the Apostle's faster though.. the only advice I can think of is to try and get them out faster. I'll look into ways and provide suggestion.
Woo! elf guy! lol thanks for the info. I like the sound of Heedless One. trample is nice plus I stocked quite a few elves in here. I'll find a way to incorporate it.. Thank you so much for the help.
Before I get ahead of myself. Is this Deck supposed to be legal in any specific format or did it just turn out that way?
Maybe add a mind grind for a pinch finish? You might also think about Breaking//Entering for another mill card. Same cost as Glimpse, just mills 2 less. Other than that you seem to have a good handle on the mill.
hmmm. I can't think of any either...But I could always just Boost Quillspike to whatever it needs to be if i've got a druid. And with 2 ways to fetch it that shouldn't be hard.
Yeah... I just have that issue in the back of my head that says "no don't destroy your land". It's done. I added more 1 drops that produce mana. Maybe Copperhorn Scout to utilize the elves again?
Well I decided elves would make a nice addition and added them. Also added some troublemakers in the Sideboard for if my opponent tries to get the upper hand. This feels like it's gonna need some work. I'll have to tweak it more.
Thanks! I should have some sort of finished product within a few hours. After that I'll tweak it as necessary
I'm not entirely sure you can Living Wish something that was exiled. When a card is exiled it is placed from the game zone into the exile zone. I believe with the 2010 rules anything that targets cards "from outside the game" (i.e. Spawnsire of Ulamog, Living wish, Etc.) target cards in your sideboard. But... Not to completely throw away your idea of living wish. I could easily have a Dark Depths hiding in my sideboard and use that to my advantage. I wasn't originally going to splash Green in here unless I had a good reason. I really wanted to make this deck mono Black. I'm a fan of Black. It's what I know how to use best. But giving green's impressive ability to consistently produce large amounts of green mana, specifically within elves. I am seriously considering adding in green and taking out the locus lands. As for the combos. I like Crop Rotation. I looked at the Quillspike and Devoted Druid and I was thinking...if I threw in a Joraga Treespeaker in that combo it would produce an infinitely powerful creature and an infinite supply of green mana. But, it also provides mana itself so I think it's worth a place in the deck. Any suggestions on modifications before I make my own?
