Welcome, Sir Pingatron! Someone recently told me that I shouldn't explain my decks so much, but I feel like others can get a true understanding of why a deck is awesome if I explain the reasoning behind it (because every card matters!!!) Obviously, this is a ping deck, with some neat little mayhem in it. Niv-Mizzet + Curiosity = win Basilisk on pingers is always good. Goblin Sharpshooter + Basilisk Collar = complete creature sweep in a single phase Cerulean Wisps serves multiple purposes. It untaps for an extra ping, cantrips for 1 card, and can turn a red creature into blue so that Crackleburr can untap it. Cerulean Wisps on a Gelectrode can net you THREE pings with it in one fell swoop. I would love to have more sorcery/instant spells for added Gelectrode synergy, but taking anything out would seriously upset the balance of the deck and turn it into a...Gelectrode deck lol. Gelectrode does just fine as a simple multicolored (Crackleburr happiness!) pinger. I've noticed that Aphetto Alchemist is an under-used card in Ping decks. The only reason I don't have 4 in is because, well, it just won't fit! After realizing this card's potential, I threw in 6 artifact lands to maximize the options. So it can untap my creature for an extra ping or possibly one of my lands for a mana boost? Thank you very much! Swiftfoot Boots win out over other protection (Lightning Greaves) simply because hexproof is amazing. My lonely pinger can be protected (for the most part) and I can still equip it with Basilisk, enchant it, or use Cerulean Wisps on it...not to mention the possible extra haste ping. Crackleburr is pretty incredible in ping decks, too. The first ability is only really useful if your red creatures have summoning sickness, or in cases where that 3 damage would be better than 2. Where it really shines is it's second ability, giving a lot of different opportunities for pinging. I have an intense longing to throw in Charismas and steal the crap out of my opponent's creatures, but the 3 blue cost is holding me back. By the time I get it out and onto a stable creature, I probably could have already killed most of my opponent's creatures. Thoughts on this card are extremely welcome! I've always wanted to use it but I'm just not sure if there is anything worth taking out, this deck rocks pretty hard the way it is :p I've considered Trinket Mages to fetch the Basilisks as well, but they literally do nothing after that and basically waste a slot.
