The idea is to completely destroy their hand quickly with Discard crippling any early game offense. Follow that up with Slavering Nulls and Liliana's Specter to maintain card advantage, following up with Guul Draz Specter to lay down the hit and keep them on the ropes. Lightning Bolt and Burst Lightning can help keep the field clear, although Burst Lightning can be substituted for Doom Blade, or Consume the Meek if necessary. **My only worry for this deck would be against other very fast decks, or if for some reason I dont draw the amount of discard that would be required to win, although being that most cards in some way relate to discard it may not be too bad**

why not run fireball instead of burst lightning? i understand the 1 mana for 2 and 5 for 4 damage. but fireball has the effect to target multiple creatures and would help clear the field a lot better i think...

Well, generally, it is to clear early creatures from the field. My goal is to make sure larger creatures dont make it to the field through discard/Doom Blade. Also in order to do 2 damage to two targets it would take 6 mana with Fireball (R) for the mana cost, (4) to set the amount of damage I want, then another (1) to hit multiple targets. Fireball DIVIDES the damage equally across the selected targets as well. Comet Storm would be a better option if that were the route I would go. Burst Lightning is more or less simply a weaker Lightning Bolt, I thought about adding in Arc Trail for the easy split of that but was trying to avoid 2 mana kill cards. Staggershock is another option, but 3 mana is a bit hefty, even if it rebounds.
