Deck Description

This is a very basic Simic deck, using very cheap cards with basic abilities. This deck is ideal for anyone new to MtG.

If anyone has any ideas please tell me, this deck could use some attention.

How to Play

Play your creatures to ramp and build up a solid defense, using removal against any threats, before dropping a big bomb or attacking with an array of flying creatures.

Deck discussion for Simic for Starters - $7!!!

Great deck. It doesn't play around +1/+1 counters, which I think is only a good thing!
Never liked Simic based counter decks anyway.

yeah I've tried them but they always seem too vulnerable or too slow. Say, reading your conversation on sylvan rangers, i may have to find a place for them in this deck.

What Northy said! It's always nice to see original decks. And if they're hilariously cheap in the process, all the better! Good job!

Well I'm a huge fan of Kiora's Follower. Not too expensive, and highly multifunctional!

I like Kiora's Follower as well, but I don't see much point of adding it since none of my creatures have tap abilities, I feel like that would be a wasted card to me.

That's true, however it does give you an extra mana ability or block ability if you'd want to, making your opponent unsure whether you'll play in instant spell or have a tapped creature block when he's attacking you.

Yeah, I suppose that's true. I'll definitely look at adding some, but first I would probably look at adding some tap ability creatures to use the Follower to its full potential. Do you know any cheap cards that utilize tapping for anything?

For now I can only think of Sigiled Starfish, but I bet there's a lot more. I'll let you know if I come up with something! I personally love using them with a land that has either Wild Growth or Overgrowth on them. It gets crazier if you've got 2 of them out, then use Triton Tactics on both Followers and untap 2 more lands :D
Right now I use Voyaging Satyr in my mono green Arbor Surprise mana ramp & Hydra deck, but Kiora's Follower is better, since it targets permanents, not just lands.

Yeah, the problem with sigiled starfish is that there is no point in using his ability twice in a turn unless I'm drawing, so for now I think I'll leave Kiora's Follower out, Definitely a card to consider for the future though.

An ideal started deck! It's an important for decks to be cheap and fun for new players, as it may decide whether they continue to play the game or quit, and I think this deck really delivers on that. Way to be creative and versatile with such a small budget!

Turn 2 ranger into a turn 3 giant into a turn 4 stomper?. I think so. Nicely done.

Edit: didn't realize that ranger put land in hand and not on field.

Yeah, unfortunately not, if so then that card would be a lot more expensive. Have you got any ideas on how I could improve the deck?

If you want the land to hit the field, I suggest Farhaven Elf.

Hmmm... what do you think is better: Farhaven Elf, of Ondu Giant?
