Deck discussion for Budget Gruul

Have a look at my gruul deck for ideas, I try to win by turn 4 by doing the same, except with rakdos cackler. Cackler, madcap skills, swing for 5, next turn bloodrush zhur-taa swine, swing for 10, burn spells. And my sideboard is full of even faster creatures

sick deck! i contemplated using cackler for some time and doing the same thing, but i figured a 1/1 with haste would work for now, i might change it around though!

Nice base for this Gruul deck! I know what its like to work off of a budget especially when your budget is 20 bucks and everything playset of a card you need is beyond that amount 3-fold. If its not too much for ya, get rid of gruul charm and get RANCOR in there. that card is indespensable :) So glad they reprinted it. IMO Gruul charm isn't one of the really good charms, its alright but its definately no Simic, Azorious, or Boros charm. Maybe instead of legion loyalist you should try Reckless Waif, I know she's only a 1/1 to start but a 3/2 on potential turn 2 is red's equivalent of the infamous Delver Transformation (minus the flying) and can be pretty brutal. Strangleroot Geist (can't imagine he costs too much still) in place of the flashing Ambush Viper..that'll give you a little more flexibility. Im a really big fan of Undying and the werewolves so i do apologize if I come across as a lobbyist for them, I just feel as though they work very well when paired with Gruul related cards, especially Korin Outlaw...double strike with bloodrush is just nasty!

All the best.

I love how everyone is undervaluing the Gruul charm... Sure it's second ability is very situational, say against, Olivia Voldaren, but it's second ability easily wipes a spirit deck (which they seem to like at my local) and can severely hurt angels, especially if you can get 2 off in one turn. But it's value (to me) lies in it's first ability, creatures without flying can't block. Great against the heavy human themes being seen around the battlefield, good against Boros, Simic, and Dimir won't get long enough to mill you effectively before getting slaughtered by creatures that can't be blocked...

Thanks for the input! Many of these ideas I have messed around with, i LOVE rancors, but they are too much :( I am going to try and borrow my friends playset for this though and see how it works! Strangleroot giest was in this until the other day, and I considered putting them back in here after i found some rootbound crags but it worries me i will be stuck in a spot where i won't be able to get him out! the one thing i havent thought of using was flip card, and i can't believe i didn't! reckless waif is a really rad one-drop, and kurin outlaw is siqq too, i was going to use markov blademaster, but once again got caught up in the two red mana thing! I wanna see how much rootbound crag will help me out, luckily none of these suggestions cost money so i will experiment with a lot of them! thanks! ps i hate gruul charm :( i'm just using it for the unblockable part.

Glaring spotlights are a sideboard option. Unless where you play you know a lot of the people you play against are heavy on the hex proof creatures
