I have a very similar deck. I run thopters and dispatch is amazing when you have pretty much instant metalcraft. I keep going back and forth on running contested warzone, so that's a thought to try.

Won't doubling season kill your devoted/quillspike combo, or does quillspike get priority on the removal of the counter?
Those are some good card ideas, but I am keeping this deck standard t2. I need to add my sideboard in, for burn decks I plan on subbing in silence along with dispel and flash freeze to deal with the burn. I've done a lot of dry runs and my mana has been fine, harrow and explore don't put the lands in tapped, the only one is razorverge thicket, which I am iffy on myself. Getting multiple overgrowns out with wall of omens starts adding the mana fast. The eldarazi are mainly in there for the shaman search if i have the mana, and I can discard them to the shaman if I am tight on mana and everything shuffles back into my library. Oblivion ring isn't t2 so I'm not worried about that, plus it still targets the permanent so the protection works. Can't argue with you on the expensive part though lol
Leyline should be in your sideboard, it'll be useless in half the games you play. Maybe 2 holy day for 2 safe passage for early game. Probably only play 2 platinum angels and 2 archangels. Maybe add stoneforge mystic to get your equipment, and then you can reduce the number of the plate and cloak, and add some of the swords instead. Maybe squadron hawk to add speed and deck thinning... check out mine if you would http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=151175
Nice deck.. Sorry to spam my deck, but I'm new here and you seem to be big here. I proxied in cards from the new Mirrodin Besieged, I didn't know if that was ok. Wanted to get your thoughts on it. Thanks. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=139150
