Deck Description

Puschkin has inspired me to make this deck. It's not meant to be played, although you could if you really wanted to. This is a story deck. Please check the How to Play section for the story.

How to Play

I once was a King. I, King Macar, was the wealthiest man in the world. I lived in my own Castle among the plains, surrounded by the beautiful sentinal Gold Myrs. I had underground networks of trained Dimir Cutpurses adding their share to my Villainous Wealth. Treasure Hunters scoured the land in search of loot. I had everything. Golden Urns, even the fabled Sky Diamond. With my trusted Expedition Map, the world was my Treasure Trove, everything was mine for the taking.

Alas, it was not to last. My Greed was my Downfall.

My Treasure Hunters and I set off across the Plains, to dreary Swamps in search of the mysterious Diamond Valley, hoping to find more loot to add to my hoard. Oh why did i ever go to that Cursed Land? If only I had known of the Sapphire Dragons, I would never have gone there, never would have put my men in such danger. The beasts surrounded us, and all was fire...

I was the only one to make it out of there, my men sacrificing themselves to protect me. But the dragons weren't content to leave me be.

Many lonely days I spent making my way home. I wasn't expecting the sight that met me when I made it. The dragons had scented my ill-gotten treasure. Everything was gone. The village burned to the ground, my Castle in ruins. The Good Myr that once stood so proudly lay broken in the dust. I walked the Scortched Earth, seeing my Sins of the Past come to haunt me. All the terrible things I did, or commanded others to do. My team of Treasure Hunters sacrificed themselves for a man consumed with Greed. Then the dragons took it all. I see a simple Wayfarers Bauble in the ashes, and think of the people that died, all the gold that I lost. Now I wander, searching, hoping for a glimmer of what I lost.

I once was a king...

Hey, I like this a lot! A few things you could work in:

- Greed
- Gemstone Mine (it's in the deck but missing in the RPG)
- Faithless Looting
- Scorched Earth (for the village burned to the ground part)
- Treasure Cruise
- Downfall
- Eiganjo Castle (could be the home of Macar)
- Sins of the Past
- Villainous Wealth
