Deck Description

This deck is based on Momentous Fall from the new set, Rise of the Eldrazi. Abyssal Persecutor sounded good with that card.

The funniest thing about the deck is that people board in Firewalkers, and Goblin Ruinblasters, which aren't so good against this deck. Because with Savage Lands, Leech, and Nighthawk, they think you are just a bad Jund that didn't draw any red spells. And they play around the lightning bolts and Bloodbraid Elves that you don't actually have.

Basically MF-ing a Persecutor gives you 6 cards and +6 life (and usually the game, because they have negative life). MF-ing a pumped Leech (to avoid removal), nets you 4 cards, 4-2 = +2 life, and they used up a removal spell. Even MF-ing Bloodghast or a Beast token in a time of dire need sounds ok).

And of course, Pellaka Wurm gives you 7 life on it's own (and a card if it dies). MF-ing the Wurm after attacking once with it gives you a total of : 14 life, 7 trample damage and 8 cards. Really, you only want to do when they try to O-ring it or something. PW is really just an advantage card for late game.

Creation philosophy:

After looking at the Rise of the Eldrazi Spoiler(http://www.gatheringmagic.com/rise-of-the-eldrazi-spoilers-0249/), I realized that 2 of the cards are completely playable. A third decided to sneak in (the 7/7 wurm - because I can). The Level up Grizzly Bears is actually really a nice addition. Yes, level up is not so good because it is sorcery speed. But for 1G, a 2/2 guy who will be 4/4 later if/when your tempo dips? Sounds like Putrid Leech 5, 6, and 7. He should almost never get bigger than 4/4 in constructed - it cost 2G to be 4/4, costs an additional 6GGG to be 6/6 trample. Maybe in very specific scenarios...

Looks neat...

I like Demonic Appetite for this deck. It can make you Momentous Falls bigger, and can even give you another way of getting rid of your Persecutor if he has to go.
