I still don't understand the point of illusion decks to be honest. have you played this against people yet? im very curious to know how it turns out.

The point is MTG is fun and building and playing decks is fun. I have the cards so why not build it. I have played it and it does pretty well most of the time.
Spellskite doesn't protect your illusions and could possibly be sideboarded unless up against straight burn.
ya and Redirect is also a fail at protecting illusions too. :c
