Main Deck (60 cards)

Sideboard (0 cards)

No sideboard found.

The owner of this deck hasn't added a sideboard, they probably should...

Submit a list of cards below to bulk import them all into your sideboard. Post one card per line using a format like "4x Birds of Paradise" or "1 Blaze", you can even enter just the card name by itself like "Wrath of God" for single cards.

If I may ask, is there anything in particular you would like to be able to do with the deck?
Like a theme or idea?

this doesnt look too bad for a first time deck honestly but it could definetly use improvement,
as Afobe mentions above it would probably be best to work out a theme or idea for your deck to use beforehand and then tweak the design, i dont want to sound like some douchey know-it-all but there are some rather obvious flaws with the design.

here is a brief run-down of things you may want to consider in no particular order (i understand that as a new player you probably don't have access to or may not want to spend money on expensive cards so i will not say anything about that)

1) increase your consistency, having a bunch of one and two of's makes your draws much more haphazard

2) decide on what type of deck you are trying to make, this will also increase consistency and will make it play much smoother

3) you have a few cards maindecked that dont really seem to belong there (ie. rootbound crag doesnt contribute anything because you have no green, at best it is a mountain, at worst it is a mountain that comes in tapped) once you have decided on a deck type (aggro, control, burn, ect.) you have to remove the cards that won't contribute to the overall idea.

Thanks for the tips! In all honesty I only bought my cards a few days ago, and just exchanged some of the cards in the core deck out for ones that were more powerful but cost less mana. Ive focused on trying to get my mana curve right rather than a particular theme at the moment, but once I get a hang of the rules etc better I might try and refine it a bit more once I work out how my deck works best. Ive played it a few times and it seems to be a bit random in consistency, so i think i do need to take out the crimson mage, lightning elemental and a few others and put in the ones that do consistently help me in battle (like the goblin fireslinger, awesome card!), but the person i tend to play against has a white/green deck, so i think i need to pick up some blue cards to try and play against that

Any themes you would suggest that can come out of the core set?

I rejigged my deck a little so theres a few less different creatures. My mana curve is a bit off but im not sure how much better it'll work with fewer creatures etc... Let me know what you think http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=252656
