Deck Description

I've beed refining this deck to be able to compete with the tourney standards. Try this deck out and you will see it has potential for quick swings and staying power for the long haul; it just needs something more that I can't think of.

Please test and comment!

Deck discussion for Infectious Priests

True Conviction would be interesting in this deck. Maybe one or two would work out?

permanent buffs would solve that problem. You dont need a big hitter, just a bunch of pumped little guys.

Tempered steel and silverskin armor would solve the lack of "Omph" in the deck.
It would also stop the annoying arc trails and forked lightings from killing all your nice infect artifacts.

It's really about the buffs on the priest; I have swung for 10 a number of times. The problem lies within needing more control or something to guard aginst flyers.

Oust, uncommon from rise of eldrazi.
one white mana
Put a creature in its owners deck 2nd from the top. Creature control and delays the card draw of the opponent.

Hi Leimana,

Nice infect deck if your creatures aren't burnt or destroyed before you can attack with them.
But because there is so much burn, destroy, and counter out there I'm a pretty strong believer in the use of Silence in white decks. Take out 3 armoured ascension and put in 3 silence.

The following is just an some ideas that might help deck I'm not absolutely sure they will.

To help your deck become more lethal consider take out 4 Holy Strength and 3 Seize the Iniatives.
adding 4 Quest for the Holy Relic and 1 Argentum Armor and 1 Sword of Feast and Famine and 1 Sword of Sword of Body and Mind.

You also might try adding 1 Adventuring Gear (and adding 8 fetch lands deck) and possibly 1 Darksteel Axe. Take out 2 Inkmoth Nexus.

Hope this helps.

Hope you're joking stalker. Thats nothing like what he's trying to do in this deck, and he doesn't have the fast 1 drops to use Quest. Alot of decks work without that combo with Quest and Armor.

Anything that gives your opponent health for a cheaper spell is GOOD.
So... on that vein, try it this way.

Condemn is nice... but use Oust as it doesnt need to be an attacking creature. (aka it can be the only blocker or the annoying effect creature that never attacks) Also by placing it second from the top you essentially take away one of their card draws which is a form of card control.
Excommunicate is the same as Oust but puts the creature on top and costs more... your infecting so Oust is better.

No creature without infect, lose the infantry veterans. Try necropedes instead.

Seize the initiative is nice... but there are better pump cards. Your trying to use the priests so why not that enchantment that gives all your white creatures +1/+1?

However! You should instead use tempered steel, it will also pump the inkmoth lands and all those wonderful infecting artifact creatures.

I disagree with planestalker, no offense. But the suggested changes are essentially a different strategy entirely.
It simply becomes a weird equipment deck. Body and mind sword doesnt help you infect the opponent away with the extra wolf tokens, Argentum armor is expensive to equip, feast and famine would be useful, and like I said adventuring gear is a different deck strategy on top of this one.

So to sum up,
Drop 2 or 3 corpse cur (too slow)
Drop infantry (not infect)
Drop Holy Strength (yeah... it does suck)
Sideboard or drop Condemn
Consider using Wall of Omens for defense if you think you need defense, it would at least let you draw a card so your not wasting time.
Use Oust, it can remove blockers and it will slow down the opponent. Two effects for one mana.
Use 4 Necropede
Use 4 Ichorclaw myr
Use a few random infect artifact creatures. Like phyrexian digester, Core Prowler, and the corpse curs you kept.
Use Tempered Steel !!!
Use Silverskin Armor! With tempered steel out it will make your priests into monsters! (+3/+3 anyone?) Also it is useful against black (go for the throat) watch out for shatter though. Easy enough to sideboard if it becomes a problem though.

Hope I gave you some ideas, heck I gave myself some ideas writing this. *goes off to change own white deck*

Ok after playtesting some of your ideas this is what I have come up with. Keep the corpse cur's and use them as expendables to get back the plague myrs (they draw crazy agro). Added Oust and Silence for better CC and added nim deathmantles for the intimidate and becoming black.

Tempered Steel was originally in but I had fewer artifacts so took it out. Now the number of artifacts has jumped again so makes sense to bring it back. The infantry vets are in for the tap ability. No one targets them and as soon as someone tries to kill off a creature of mine You can tap for +1+1 and keep it alive usually.

You will see I added a sideboard with other forms of cc and silverskin armor.

Thank you for your suggestions and please keep them coming! Playtest this deck instead of just drawing hands, you will see it is quite strong in many formats and fun to play.

Sorry, Holy Strength, I knew it sounded a bit wierd.

I had Holy Strength in initialy and as nice as it was to have huge blocker it wasn't cutting it. Flying on the other hand is exactly what I needed!

An interesting card you might want to try is Core Prowler (2/2, 4 colorless, infect, and when it's sent to the graveyard proliferate). You can sub them in for the Corpse Cur, because they have infect and the same cost, power, and toughness, just a different ability, which I think is better for this deck as it can be a problem for control decks mid to late game which is where I think this deck struggles a bit.

Tried it and found it more beneficial than corpse cur in about 1/3 of the matches. It is deffinately worth putting on sideboard. The main reason for corpse cur isnt because his damage, but bringing back infectors that often get countered or killed.
