Deck Description

been looking at some R/G aggro decks that have been doing well. this is my go at one. i think it is pretty fast. its put together with cards i currently have. suggestions are wellcome especially with the unfinished sideboard. thanks in advance

How to Play

the idea is to get creatures out fast and attack fast. the combo of BTE+Lightning Mauler is nice especially with a one drop creature on turn one. it's massive damage turn two if the opponent is wide open. turn three wild beastmaster then bloodrush it on turn 4 to boost all your creatures. that should about do it for a win

Deck discussion for R/G Aggro Standard

I would take the Wild Beastmasters out because you have no way to really build them up alot

he can always bloodrush the ghor-clan rampagers in response to the trigger, if he has enough creatures it will be massive damage enough to kill in one blow.

Yes that was the original idea. It's is a huge amount of damage on turn 4 if the cards fall right. But it's not likely that the cards fall that much into my favor. However, since I only have 3 boars and the local card shop is sold out I might drop a lightning mauler and put in two beast masters to have in just in case

Two things that I notice are:

1. No hellriders
2. you have no top curve. All someone has to do to shut you down is stall you a few turns and pop a board wipe or just play creatures bigger than yours. Call of the conclave puts out a 3/3 on turn 2, which is bigger than every card in your deck, minus ghor clan rampager (which comes out turn 4). With ramp, a turn 2 Loxodon Smiter is possible. Because of the bloodrush + burning tree emissary, you'd probably have only 1 or 2 cards left in hand, which won't be enough to rebuild your board. Basically if you don't win by turn 5, you lose.

That being said, I think you need some cards with higher impact.
Flinthoof boar comes out as a 3/3 on turn 2 or 3/3 haste on turn 3. I'd get rid of the gobbos for the boars. If you really want that 1 mana bloodrush, slaughterhorn + rubblebelt maka are better options.
You have the mana base to play Ash Zealot/Strangleroot geist, which I'd play over the maulers. I've never found maulers to be reliable.
I think that legion loyalist may be better than dryad militant because it helps mid game once your opponent builds board presence, which you may need if you don't draw War Chant.
Cut Wild beastmaster for hellriders. If you don't want to spend the money, I like rubblebelt raiders.

First off Thanks for the advice I appreciate it. I have a couple hellriders to put in and also a couple rubble belt raiders I think I will go 2 and 2 for the beast masters I only have 3 flint hoof boar currently but I will work on getting another and put those in for the goblins. Personally I've never really used lightning mauler but people have recommended him in the past so I want to keep him for now and test it before I make a decision on him. I don't have the legion loyalist at the moment but may look at getting some. Once again thanks for the input and what are your suggestions on the sideboard?

Dryad Militant/Ash Zealot to deal with Junk Rites.
Skylasher for anything blue.
Skullcrack for Sphinx's Revelation.
Possibly Elixir of Immortality (where I play there are mill decks).
Maybe thunderbolt to take out pumped Olivia, Aurelia, Restoration Angel, boosted Nocturnus, super friends, etc.

I don't see the point of Signal the Clans. I guess you would try to search for Hellrider, but its not a for-sure thing.

Ok thanks a ton. I'll dig out what skullcracks I have. And thunderbolts. I'll have to work on getting the skylashers though. Ash zealot is no problem. I haven't seen any mill decks where I play so I'm not sure about the elixir

If you don't want to play Legion Loyalist, I would put them in a side board. Mostly because of the "unable to be blocked by tokens", considering Voice of Resurgence, thragtusk, advent of the wurm, sorin, garruk, lingering souls... etc are seeing play.

I would if I had them. My friend got all of mine for his Boros deck though. But I see what you're saying

I would definitely go after a play set of hellriders to switch the 2 rubbebelt riders simply because of haste and assured damage. Domri rade also helps a lot, works both as removal and speeds up creatures. (you can make 2 creatures fight after you have bloodrushed one of yours).

Another nice addition (but rather expensive) is boros reckoner (you would have to work a little your lands to put it in).

I agree with this. 4 Hellriders is a must if you can afford them.

I would have suggested reckoner as well, but it's expensive, it's triple red, and it doesn't have haste. Boros reckoner was always too slow for me.

Ok I'll go ahead and put the other two riders in there. The raiders are nice with the deck but they're a little too slow
