Warrior Tribal!
[History]
Tribal decks have been a part of Magic's history for many years. The main idea behind Tribal decks is that you focus on a creature type and have Lords to support that creature type. Lords are creatures that support a certain creature; in the case of this deck, the creature type of focus is Warrior. An example of a Lord card is Chief of the Scale, which gives all other Warrior creatures you control an additional toughness. Tribal decks can range from various types, such as Elves, Humans, Soldiers, Dragons, and at one time, there were even Cleric tribal decks!
[How to Play]
With the Warriors of Tarkir you'll be striking at your opponent quickly with a multitude of Warriors! You may want to start off with a Herald of Anafenza to begin your production of the Warrior army. As you build your army, be sure to play some of your Lords, such as either Chief or Herald of Dromoka to give your Warriors the boost they need. If you're running low on Warriors, play either Mardu Hordechief or Take Up Arms to get some creatures fast. If you're having trouble finding the cards you need, play Read the Bones to Scry then draw two cards, or pay a life with Raiders' Spoils to draw a single card after attacking with a Warrior. Don't worry too much about low life, as there are many cards in this deck to help you gain back your lost life.
On the sideboard, you are given a few cards that might help in certain situations. Dragon Hunter and Spidersilk Net can you help you tangle with the many Dragons in Standard; Timely Hordemate can help bring back your Warriors should you be facing a lot of Removal or Burn spells; Suspension Field helps to keep your opponent's creatures out of the way while you attack; Utter End is just a nice Removal spell that can help you at a moment's notice; and Solemn Offering allows you to remove any pesky Artifacts or Enchantments that your opponent might be playing, plus net you some additional life.
[Important Cards to this Deck]
Arashin Foremost: Though I did not mention this card in the "How to Play," this card does give another Warrior you control Double Strike, which is always helpful when trying to make for an early victory.
Chief of the Edge / Scale: Both of these cards are equal in importance, as they both boost your Warriors and possibly survive a hard hit or give you enough power to land a fatal blow on another creature.
Read the Bones: This 3 Mana Sorcery is an amazing card that allows you to look at the top cards of your deck before drawing two cards. At the cost of two life, and being more splashable than Sign in Blood, why would you not want to have this card in a deck with Black in it?
Herald of Anafenza: This early board hitter can be become quite a threat if left unchecked. Along with becoming a bigger creature as you use its Outlast effect, this creature also provides you with an additional Warrior token.
Diplomacy of the Wastes: This Sorcery allows you to take a peak as to what your opponent currently holds in their hand, then possibly screw up their plan by allowing you to choose a card that that player must discard. Plus, with all the Warriors in this deck, you'll also be making your opponent pay an additional 2 life, thus bringing their life total closer to 0.
