hmm idk about your creature base. what do you think of grim lavamancer, monastery mentor, dark confidant?not a fan of Elspeth, has to be a better creature. if you do run dark confidant, you can turn the sieges into path to exile

thanks for the suggestion, Zak.Now, I personally felt three problems with the confidant. The first is of course cost. It's over $40CAD for each of them, and outpost siege is a fine substitute. Seeker of the way is also a better powerhouse creature, and replaces our life lost from the pain lands, while the confidant drains it. Look, it is a tempting choice, and I might actually get them if they fall to a realistic price...ever...Grim Lavamancer! Ok, now this one I actually never thought of when building the deck, and now I understand why. It's a card that isn't meant for this deck in general. My mardu deck isn't a burn deck...mainly. It's a midrange grindey deck. That's why we have cards like outpost siege for painless card advantage, and goblin dark dwellers to squeeze every last bit of value out of a 5 drop as possible. Imagine casting one of those things, and targeting a crackling doom in your graveyard to fry your opponent's final fatty to exhaust their resources.Actually I don't see anything wrong with the monastery mentor. Looking at TCG player prices it's about 19 dollars USD, probably more in CAD. Are you sure that the prowess generated tokens are going to be better than the rabblemaster's 1 goblin a turn?Elspeth is something that I can take out for sure. I remember in my days in FRF standard, elspeth would wreck some serious butt, especially combined with the powers of butcher. I guess though, in this fast format, elspeth isn't needed? What creature would you replace it with?
