Deck discussion for Bloodbraid Aggro

Trace of abundance seems like a wasted spot.

Lol.... absolutely not. Not only does it give me mana ramp, but it is a 2 drop that powers up jund hackblade...I mean, if i drop a birds first turn, and have another land second turn, I can drop it on a land and drop the hack blade 2nd turn, and swing for 3. Then 3rd turn I have 5 mana (assuming I don't miss a land drop) and I can drop bloodbraid or seigegang, or pretty much what ever I have in my hand. Its actually pretty amazing.

You'll want to run Fertile ground over trace of abundance so Garruk can target it!! You probably don't need the siege-gangs because you have powerful creatures, and you don't need tokens!!! how does colossus fair? it seems a little useless with Path out there... I would take out 4 trace, 2 colossus, 2 siege-gang, throw in 2 maelstrom pulse, 1 garruk, 1 birds of paradise, and 4 fertile ground. Just my thoughts!

The reason I liked trace is because it is multicolored, but I didn't think about the garruk thing. I have found my self siding out the siege-gangs quite a bit, and the colossus is in there because he is a big creature that I can poor mana into. Yea he is vulnerable to path and condemn, but I like that he is immune to terror/terminate. not sure what I would put in instead of colossus. I also liked that he could be cascaded with bituminous... any suggestions?

I think this deck is done. More comments are welcome, but mostly i just want to see people rating the deck and seeing if they can beat it! Made some changes, I think they are good. If you want some justifications for any of the cards in here let me know.

ok me and yarhar both have bloodbraid type aggro decks and i was wondering if u think black is better than playing white. with white u get path, escort, and naya charm off the bloodbraid's cascade and with black u get terminate, maelstrom pulse, and jund charm. idk which would be better.

i choose black pulse of the maelstrom is a card that can remove pretty muich everything that bothers you

and finally it's rare to find real tournament quality decks on this site

Alright, after all the positive commentary, I feel constructive criticism is in order (read: I'm gonna act like a jerk for the next couple lines, but a relevant jerk). Bear in mind, most if not all of the praise above this is true, the deck's solid, I just have a few notes.

One: why the heck is there a maindecked solitary pithing needle? so you can randomly draw it and be like "oh hey, the ajani he's already had out for a turn is really annoying, I'll pithing needle it after it's already doled out counters twice"

Two: your side deck has 14 cards. one short there sir.

Three:what the heck's the hellspark elemental in your side for? that was just confusing.

Four: while I appreciate the value of vivids in your color-intensive deck, aren't they just slowing you down? tap lands should be used as little as possible in your case, as you're running a fast and hard build.

Ok, after all that, I still think this is solid. thealextheory makes a good point in that there's very few tourney decks on the site, most of it is casual, so rest assured that you've got something you could take to a competition. You know, once you get another card in the sideboard :P

Okay, so the one pithing needle is for the token metagame. I get it, and there goes windbrisk, ajani, or elspeth. I ran this deck at fnm, and I never had a problem with the mana base, so I am not going to defend it much. I will say that a vivid first turn was great, and I usually had a rampant turn 2 so that turn 3 I had all three colors no matter what. Anyway, I do want to comment on this deck so people know whats wrong with it. I learned a lot about deck building this weekend and I am going to share some of it.

Firstly, the hackblades don't really fit with the deck. With the meta at FNM anathemancers were useless and got sided out. That makes it so that the only multicolored permanents were broodmates and bloodbraids. Hellsparks were okay, but it was usually too little too late. Violent outburst sucks, period end. Garruk is great, especially with X spells, but cascade and X spells are a bad combination. This deck lost to some pretty bad decks this weekend, although monored aggro really raped it, and so did exalted. There is far too much removal in this deck and not nearly enough damage. I am going to work on a new original aggro deck, that has a better synergy than this one.

BTW, jund charm was good some of the time and awful at others, I am still not sure about it though.
