Another day in this carnival of soulsAnother night settles in as quickly as it goesThe memories of shadows, ink on the pageAnd I can't seem to find my way home~Far From Home, Five Finger Death Punch
Death on turn one.Begin turn one:1. Swamp (1 black mana)2. Dark Ritual, Dark Ritual (5 black mana)3. Carnival of Souls (3 black mana)4. Gravecrawler, Carrion Feeder, Blood Artist (You will gain 3 black mana and spend 4 ending up with 2 black mana remaining. You will have lost 3 life)5. Sacrifice Gravecrawler to Carrion Feeder, gain 1 life, opponent loses 1 life. 6. Spend 1 black mana to summon Gravecrawler from the graveyard, lose 1 life, regain 1 black mana.7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 until opponent's life reaches 0.End turn one. Of course, that assumes a perfect opening hand:1 Swamp, 2 Dark ritual, 1 Carnival of Souls, 1 Gravecrawler, 1 Carrion Feeder, 1 Blood Artist. Which is why turn 2-3 draw power is essential. Altar's Reap or Sign in Blood will normally give you all the cards you need by turn 3-4. In the event that the game extends beyond that, Damnable Pact and/or Necromancer's Stockpile used properly with the Carnival of Souls or Altar's Reap will get it done for you. Sometimes, your opponent will catch on to the infinite loop before you can pull it off. A longer game is where Undercity Informer will save you. If you are missing Carnival of Souls, by this time you should have the land/Dark Rituals to drain your opponent's library in one or two turns. If you are missing Blood Artist but have Carnival of Souls, then you have a greater chance of milling your opponent so long as you have enough life. Don't forget to make use of the token you may get from Stockpile.
