I haven't actually gotten any playtesting with this deck... I was building it for FNM, however... A few bigger tourneys came up followed by game day, and I decided to play a more competitive deck for those. I'll be re-building this one for FNM this week though. I'll keep you posted on how it goes.

I like that idea.... But.... I have no idea where I'd find room....
Ive been debating on adding in a couple rancor, not sure where id put it though... Stalker would be alright, I just didn't want a plain body(non-exalted) But, the hexproof and unblockable might get him in place of my Sureblades.... Maybe. But, he's easily killed by whipflare and such. . . .Curious, what is the idea you'll be conveying?
I'm going to try the Primal Hunters, Clan Defiances, and Spell Runptures instead of my Relentless, Bonfires, and my Syncopates. At least to see how they run. I tried the Defiance before, but, only for a match or 2... I just didn't like that it could only hit a couple of creatures as opposed to their whole board... Have you played using the Defiances? If so, what's your opinion?
Agro? Haha
Thanks for your input! I do find myself on turn 3, looking at Biomancer and Ranger in hand, and thinking "Why do I have you Ranger?"So, I agree in that sense. As for the clan defiance, do you think I should play a 1 of that still or replace it with a third Bonfire? In either case, why?
I played this in an Open Qualifier on Saturday. . . . Didn't do so hot. Round 1: Naya Humans. 2-1 Round 2: RDW. 0-2Round 3: Naya Agro. 1-2Round 4: Selesnya Agro: 2-1Round 5: RDW. 1-2All in all, I had a very tough time with fast-paced decks...Im thinking about taking one Thrag, one rancor, and the clan defiance out. Replaced with 2 Wolfir Silverheart and a third bonfire.
Could you explain your sideboard choices? I'm currently messing with a RUG build for standard myself. . . But, I can't seem to get my sideboard straightened out. Here's my RUG build:http://www.mtgvault.com/konjester/decks/rug-bubbles/
I really like this deck. Zombies are definitely a fun one to play. Only sad thing is that Gatecrash didn't come out with any direct zombie support...
I thought about lightning storm.... But, its not what Im looking for with the deck. It's good, and some extra damage, but at the same time, it does about the same thing that my Seismic assault does, and, with assault being played on turn 3 and a swans turn 4 for the game.... It works better than a turn 4 Swans followed by a turn 5 Lightning storm. . . 1 turn can be all the difference. The reason I don't play Crucible, is because Im trying to ditch my lands, I have enough to cast any of the cards that I want in there, Ulamog is only there for his shuffle ability, which I need for the infinite. If crucible brought them to hand, then Id play it, but it allows for them to be played from the grave.... Meaning I don't get them back in my deck and I don't get their hits off of Seismic.Thank you for the suggestions though, they were both on my list until I fine-tuned it. =]
Thanks! Those are really good suggestions. I had Nevermore mained because sometimes it makes all the difference. Calling a Jace or an Entreat the angels on a bant deck, calling Hellrider on RDW, or even calling Thragtusk against, well, most of the meta...
Thank you! And I agree with your comments on Talrand and Thrag. Definitely agree with Rift, not sure why I didnt throw that in before, as for unsummon, it is great in a bind, I just never had much love for it... We don't have ponder and mana leak, but, we do have Index and Dissipate. Im thinking a 2-Index, 2 Rift, and 2-Unsummon ass in for the Talrand and Thrag spots. Maybe when Gatecrash hits it'll boost Delver's chances... Just a couple weeks away, we'll see.
Ive thought about it. . . . And I think it would be a great add, Im just unsure of which fatty would work well in here. Serenity has removal and a nice power to her. Griselbrand, well, he's Griselbrand. Other Fatties Ive considered are: Primordial Hydra, all the excess mana could make him HUGE; Niv-Mizzet, not nearly as big as the other options, but, he adds draw power and another outlet for mana; Avacyn, making all of my defenders and Planeswalkers indestructible? Yes please; and Gisela, a test subject and/or a Thragtusk swinging with her can be devastating.
Thanks, I thought it was appropriate. =D
As Jack said, the Delvers and Stalkers are the main source of damage. The spears are almost strictly for removal(unless you have the opportunity to knock the last bit of life from your opponent). The Izzet charms are mainly in there as a placeholder for Simic charms in gatecrash, however, they add an extra counter that comes in handy. Thragtusks, fogs, and dissipates are in there to hold on long enough to get in the damage.
In all the EDH I play, you need 20 Poison counters to die
I love the deck, Damia is a commander I've been tinkering with lately... Have you considered Jace Beleren or Sorin Markov as adds? Sorin's -3 ability kills in EDH and Jace is a nice little draw engine that people usually don't target(due to his making everyone draw a card as a +2 ability. If you have time, please check out my EDH deck build around Damia(or Mimeoplasm really) http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=378460
I like this deck a lot. A friend of mine plays a B/W token deck, and he loves it. I've tried it out and I have to say, spamming an average of 3-6 creatures buffed with Virtue and Honor? That's really not bad. The black that he played was only for removal and flashing back Lingering Souls. If you have a chance, check out my Boros Humans? I want to make the deck a little faster/more versatile. . . And I'm a little clueless on how I'll be changing it post-rotation... http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=378128
I love the idea of this deck, and would like to try it out for myself, but I don't wanna build it when it's rotating out fairly soon.... Have you tried this out in a tournament or anything?
I quite like this in actual play, it's surprisingly quick. A friend of mine has used it to top 4 in our FNM for the past 2 weeks. If you have time, please check out this deck, I'd really appreciate your insight! http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=378128
