Mhm, the idea being that you are playing as Urabrask.

Ideally red wants to be as fast as possible, so red decks that focus of bigger creatures is rare so I have no idea how the deck would work (I'm also running on next to no sleep) but you always wanna have 4 Lightning Bolts in your deck if you have red. Hero of Oxid Ridge is also a great card and you want more of him. Your deck is very scattered, you have a lot of one-ofs and two-ofs, but you should really just pull out the things that are less effective and less efficient in favor of things that are *more* effective. Also, while I love seeing Slag Fiend put to use, you need more Artifacts. Might I reccomend throwing in 4 Shrine of Burning Rage. You don't need Geosurge, just put in Koth of the Hammer, his second ability could really help you, or you can use him to animate your lands to smack them with. You really just need more experience with Magic in general by the looks of it. Don't be afraid of putting in 4 copies of a card, especially if its a good card. Keep in mind the mana curve, you always want more lower costing spells than you do higher costing spells, this ensures that you will always have something to play. I'll post again later when I'm not so out of it.
Its not meant to be a good deck, its moreso a "flavor deck." A deck I construct for the purpose of story, rather than effectiveness. Actually this was a little challenge I made to a few of my friends, we would each make Phyrexian Flavor Decks. I just felt like making decks for all the colors. :3
Hi, I'm the joke. *flies over your head* Can't you just sit back and enjoy the beauty of a deck that's too simple to run Storm Crow.
Yeah, the Mindslaver is a bit costly. I already have looked into the Crypt and I'll probably throw a few in the sideboard so I can experiment with it. I'm gonna test this deck out tonight assuming I can get what I don't already have.. I actually have a lot of plans for this deck with Zendikar rotates from T2!
Although I like Blood Seeker I think Pulse Tracker will be better for the deck because it's a fantastic turn 1 drop and can either start adding up the chip damage or force them to deal with the creature itself. I mean, if it swings they'll take 1 damage no matter what.
This is amazing o.o
Only having 1 Signal Pest was an error on my part, but thanks for reminding me about Etched Champion. :D although I am looking for a replacement to Signal Pest. I don't think it benifits the deck well enough for it to warrent a slot.
I originally wanted to avoid using Stoneforge Mystic (I do not have any, and I'm unemployed), but while I was away I realised that as long as Zendikar is in standard, I will need Stoneforge to make the deck run at its' best.
This is true, I completely forgot about Silverskin Armor. I added that, and dropped 2 of the swords from the deck, as well as Puresteel (as much as I like him, I'll have to wait until Zedikar rotates to use him) in favor of Batterskull and 4 Stoneforge Mystics.
I have to agree with everyone in saying you need more ramp. But I really like the idea of this deck. You should remove some of your fatties and throw in little green mana producers. Llanowar Elves, Battlement, Birds, etc.. Use of fetchlands will help with rapid deck thinning. I don't normally do this, but if you could give me some suggestions on this deck. I've hit a wall in the build. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=180380
Well my brother's deck is built around using Venser for various cantrips so I know which ones are better than others. He tends to either bounce for massive amounts of life, land destruction, or card draws. Here's his deck if you wanna take a look. Its essentially a "Venser's Toolbox" deck. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=145265 lol yes I am trying to promote his decks because he doesn't get enough likes for his awesome decks.
I was gonna make an Elf EDH, but I decided on using Thrun and going for more fatties. But if I did make one, it would probably be pretty close to this. You could probably use more artifact support, Gauntlet of Power, Divining Top, Doubling Cube (this one is a MUST), and maybe a one or two of the Mirran swords. Either Light and Shadow or Body and Mind.
You should put in more Venser, you might want a total of 3 or 4, depending on your preference. Along with that I would say you should include more cantrips, like Wall of Omens. Use Venser to bounce the Wall and get a free draw? Yes please! The same could also go for Spreading Seas, you get a free draw and potential mana-screw. Overall it looks like a fun deck. :D
Slice in Twain is very inefficient, but in all honesty if the deck is running right, I shouldn't need to tap more than 1 land to use it, its not like I wouldn't have the mana. Green's problem comes down to draw power, so I need as much as I can get and that lets me destroy something along with getting a draw. So I don't really mind that its a tad overcost. Sure I'll take a look.
Liked just for Cats!!! :D No really, kitties is awesome.. :3
I would say to look into the Mirrodin swords. Specifically Fire and Ice. Allows you to deal a little extra damage, and more importantly, draw a card upon dealing damage. Works well with your commander, and is simply a fun card overall! After that would I would say find a spot of Sword of Feast and Famine. And lastly, Sword of Light and Shadow.. very broken for EDH in general And of course, I would say drop Beleren, and otp for Jace 2.0, he would give you a significant advantage. Yeah he's expensive, but he's also extremely good. Find a way to get one and throw him in. But I don't think I needed to tell you this.
I had to look at Vigor again and damn, he a combination of dirty and sexy. I think he definately deserves a spot in the deck. Sure, I suppose I could look at your deck. Like I said before though, I'm pretty new to EDH so I don't really know what to look for. Seems like some of these other guys in here are pretty good at EDH, I've gotten a lot of great feedback and suggestions.
I know there might be some better commanders out there, but I wanted to make this deck because I really like Thrun. The fact that he is tough as hell to kill is a big bonus for me. I do believe I still have Omnath in there, and I have a few ways of pulling him from the deck to either my hand or the field. Thanks for the suggestions though! Keep them coming
I originally put in Ulamog because I liked that he could destroy a permanent upon entering, but the more I look at it, I'm not sure how great that would be, being able to destroy 1 permanent. I think I will drop him in favor of Kozilek
