Thank Barracuda for the inspiration for this awesome deck idea. As you may be able to tell, creatures of the same CMC are paired together in some way.E.J. Frontline Medic and Vampire Nighthawk attack together well.not more than 2 Orzhov cards present. Most of the cost is from the lands, So feel free to replace them with plains and swamps. The sideboard goes like this:Segnir Vampire <-> Repentant VampireFrontline Medic <-> Silverblade PaladinVampire Nighthawk <-> Captivating VampireBatwing Brume <-> DisechantDoom Blade <-> Hero's DownfallHonorable Mentions:Baracuda answered my 3rd question, suggesting vault of the Archangel and Isolated Chapel.
Vampires have lifelink, deathtouch, and flying. Humans have first strike, double strike, and indestructibility. Put them together and there is great fun to be had.Great Combos:Frontline Medic + Vampire Nighthawk attacking.Thornbite Staff + Vampire NighthawkStudent of Warfare + Basilisk Collar (or Felidar Umbra)Silverblade Paladin + ... anyoneCaptivating Vampire + Vampire NighthawkSengir Vampire + Basilisk Collar + Thornbite Staff

I am flattered, thanks for the credits. You are a really good friend( not for that reason only )Awesome deck! Looks solid, good mana curve, really good combos. You did a nice job on this one
I am flattered. Though ... it looks like I need more land.
Vault of the Archangel is a good land that would give all your creatures deathtouch and lifelink by tapping 4 mana and itself, but I don't think it needs more lands.Maybe sideboard vampire hexmage? Or not, it is good at removing counters from Planeswalkers, which are included in most decks
Dude, it does. I drew a few sample hands. MORE LANDS!
OK, more lands it is.Isolated Chapel, maybe?
How am I supposed to choose?Land is the most powerful but least mentioned permanent. Their modus operandi is FREE, they are cheap, and they can't be countered as they are never spells! Just imagine making a deck without them!
No one can make a landless deck, or else they would only be able to sit there, discard, and watch the opponent kill themTake out a thornbiter staff, a grul draz, and a righteousness?
Think about thornbiter staff with Vampire Nighthawk.
Ah, that's good then
Actually, I have seen a landed deck on here. Really interesting one too. But for the most part... Yeah... Gotta have lands to do pretty much anything. As for suggestions... I have no clue. I need to look closer at the deck. I understand the concept here, but what are the main... "armies" in here?
White humans and Black Vampires. Each creature has a counterpart; that's how I made the deck!Gruul Draz Vampire <-> Student of Warfare (maybe Serra Ascendant)Frontline Medic <-> Vampire Nighthawk*Sengir Vampire <-> Serra Angel*These 2 really are an entire army, especially if there is a Thornbiter Staff lying around ...I will post the full list later.
Oh, and that landless deck ... challenge accepted!
Crap... I meant a landless deck. I will post a link to it, see what you guys think. It isn't mine though.http://www.mtgvault.com/mashitta/decks/hack/
Wow! This deck looks really neat! I like the concept! +1 like from me! Now let's see if Northy can make it cheaper!
I can =). Remove all the fancy lands save for fetid heath and add Orzhov Guildgate. That will knock 100$ off the price. Student of warfare can be replaced with Serra Ascendent, which is a direct counterpart to Gruul Draz Vampire.
Yikes, the Fetid Heaths alone are 76$!
The land is really important, due to the awkward need for large amounts of white and black mana.
I give this deck a 2/10. ^_^. Too slow. Throw the Cap vamps in there. and some more draw power. and get rid of the white cards completely and maybe it'll bump to a 6/10.This is my vamp deck. :P http://www.mtgvault.com/mmmjkx2/decks/phobus-and-deimos-vintage/
Draw some hands and call it slow. It's not that bad for a midrange deck. If you want to grill me on something, it should be the deck's size and diametrically opposed natures.Granted, this deck is not as fast as aggro vampires, or vampires in general. Oh well, since it's not a vampire deck.Speed is sacrificed for the theme. If I wanted, this would be a pure vampire deck except for Frontline Medic and Silverblade Paladin.
http://www.mtgvault.com/buwalda/decks/my-take-on-ub-heroic/Please help this deck out.
Hey thanks man!! Appreciate you advertising for me! I relay like the theme for this deck!
I do too ... though the lands to support it cost so much!
Hey... This just might be foolish, but I would suggest Concerted Effort...It would fit the deck's theme...
Thank you! It does fit, but it doesn't work with lifelink or deathtouch =(.
