Deck Description

Peasant, Pauper, Noble, and now Aristocrat.

Here is the Challenge: Make an Aristocrat deck.

Rules:

1) Decks must contain 60 cards.
2) Decks can have up to 2 rares. Of the two rares, each one must be unique. In other words, a deck can't have two copies of the same rare.
3) Mythic rares are not allowed. Ever! Yes, that means no planeswalkers.***EDIT: Has been pointed out to me, by s0rinmark0v, that there were 5 Planeswalkers that started out Rares, and were converted over to Mythical Rares:Aristocrat Planeswalkers (Only allowed Planeswalkers in Aristocrat Format)- Ajani Goldmane- Jace Beleren- Liliana Vess- Chandra Nalaar- Garruk Wildspeaker
4) Decks can also have up to 12 uncommons. Like the rares, the number of copies you can include of any particular uncommon is restricted. In this case, no more than three copies of any one uncommon are allowed.
5) The rest of your deck is composed of commons, with the restriction that only 4 copies of up to three particular commons are allowed, with the rest of the deck's commons being limited to no more than 3 per unique common.
6) Basic lands are used as normal, with no particular limit on copies.
7) Sideboards are allowed and encouraged, and may include up to 1 rare and 3 uncommons, duplicating perfectly the rarity distribution of a typical booster pack. Additionally, none of the cards in the sideboard can be copies of the cards in the main deck.8) Sideboards are allowed to have 4 copies of up to two particular commons in the sideboard.

I tried to put wordmail in a deck, but I found too many gw creatures that I loved. Especially those with vigilance.

Let me show you all why serra angel is not completely worse than baneslayer angel. All hail the v-word!

P.S. Just try killing charging troll with divine favor on it.

P.P.S. Wilt-Leaf Elf Knihts might be worthy of my mono-white knight tribal ... of DOO- nevermind that, leave planar domination to the death mages. Seriously though, who the hell designed Wilt-Leaf Cavaliers, Leatherback Baloth, and Boggart Ram-Gang?! I demand to know, because I think whomever it was had a say in Fiendslayer Paladin, and I want MOAR KNIGHTS!

Deck discussion for Aristocrat: GW the Program

Nice job, friend.
This deck makes my comment on your last deck rather obsolete. I'll leave it to you to puzzle out what I mean.
Very straightforward, very mana-efficient.
Uses some of my absolute favorite cards (especially Charging Troll)

I always liked Armadillo Cloak with Charging Troll, though Behemoth Sledge does roughly the same thing. I think both are uncommon though. Would it be worth it to drop Watchwolf and Wilt Leaf to 2 apiece to put 2 behemoth sledges in?

At the risk of being repetitive.....

Edit: I was mistaken. Armadillo Cloak was common. Have at it!

Hmm ....It's the cloak or shield of the oversoul. Frankly, I like the shield better. Just imagine it on a wilt-leaf cavaliers.

I got a question about the rules. In terms of the number of copies, what about cards that have prints at different levels?

eg. Doom Blade is originally a common, but M14 bumped it up to an uncommon.

eg.2 The original 5 planeswalkers are originally rares, but got bumped up to Mythic in every other print.

Do we treat it the same way Pauper treats commons? ie If at any time it's printed as the lower rarity, it counts as that rarity for this format.

And about the original 5 planeswalkers, I believe if the Mythic rarity existed when they were printed, they would have been printed as such. So, shouldn't they specifically be banned? I think it's a little unfair that they are allowed when the others aren't.

You'll have to check out the forum I'm afraid. The creator of the format allowed the lowest rarity rating to be used for cards, specifically the 5 original Planeswalkers. So, the Pauper way of treating rarity.

However, this new format allows cards of all rarities to be used (except mythic rates). The main reason for the rule in pauper is that that particular format needs as many freaking cards as possible. In other words, the format creator is merely going with convention, not necessarily what is best for this new and hopefully improved format.

It has been suggested, not just by you, that the most RECENT rarity rating be used, not the lowest. This approach relies on the assumption that Wizards has realized one of their many mistakes and is trying to make up for it. Because the vast majority of the time they have no idea what the h they are doing when assigning rarity to cards. Just saying.

Oh the joys of getting out both of your rares during the same game!

Love to see the Feed the Clan.
People like Puschkin would have a cow if he seen that!
I like spells that do nothing else but gain life.
Life buys you a Turn or 2. And that can mean all the difference!

So let's see ... cast divine favor on watch wolf for a a 4/6 blocker, gain 3 life, then gain 10 life from feed the clans. That's my optimal T2 and T4 - with me sitting pretty on 33 life.

When I first saw it ... I thought Wizards had gone insane. First Martyr of Sands, then Rest for the Weary, now ... 10 life from a freaking GREEN instant?

I don't much care for infect ... though I do see why some players might be frustrated with lifegain when a green beatstick player can have over 40 life by turn 4. Simple combo. Leatherback Baloth + Feed the Clan (x2) - all the friends you have ever made in magic. This is especially true if you pull this off by turn 3 thanks to a llanowar elves drop turn 1. Simply put some trample on your baloth, and you basically win. Can anyone match green beatsticks 2 to 1 for damage? NO. ESPECIALLY not with Terra Stomper hanging around.
