Deck Description

If all you want is a Midrange deck in Legacy, you can finally be happy. Nic Fit is the closest thing we've ever had, and Titania, Protector of Argoth is a convincing new inclusion. She certainly brings the beats, adding enough power level to at least check up on the strategy again.

The deck is centered around Cabal Therapy or Phyrexian Tower together with Veteran Explorer to ramp you into a Green Sun's Zenith that will fetch you the perfect creature to combat the opponent's strategy. Knight of the Reliquary is also great for this type of build to fetch key lands, and is a magnificent combination with Titania. Finally, the deck can play a land-centric game with Life from the Loam, potentially combining the two card combo Thespian's Stage and Dark Depths.

The deck is actually fairly budget friendly for Legacy, with the dual lands being the obvious exception. The core of the deck (Cabal, Explorer, GSZ, KotR, and Titania) are very competitively priced!

Hope you like it!

Maybeboard:
Living Wish
Natural Order
Sensei's Divining Top
Innocent Blood
Liliana of the Veil
Recurring Nightmare
Unburial Rites
Crop Rotation
The Tabernacle at Pendrell Vale
Maze of Ith
Treetop Village
Ancient Tomb
Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth
Horizon Canopy

Grisly Salvage is an iffy inclusion but does an okay job fueling Life From the Loam, Knight of the Reliquary, Eternal Witness, Volrath's Stronghold, and Cabal Therapy.

When Treasure Cruise inevitably gets banned, a version with Hymn to Tourach, Liliana, and Smallpox could be playable. Although my problem with this is that Smallpox land destruction is less effective in the face of Veteran Explorer giving the opponent basic lands. Plus land destruction is highly available with the sideboarded Wastelands already.

How to Play

The deck has multiple angles of attack. You can play reactively like a Maverick deck by using your sideboard hate and Knight of the Reliquary activations, you can go ham with Titania, or you can try and get that sweet sweet Marit Lage token with Dark Depths/Thespian Stage.

The hardest part of playing the deck seems to be knowing the shortcuts behind the ramp.

Ways to ramp:
Veteran Explorer + Sac outlet = two extra lands
GSZ for 0 = Dryad Arbor for an extra land/creature
KotR = ramps for 1 every turn (and gets bigger in the process), even more if you fetch Ancient Tomb
Titania = Ramps for 1 when she enters play, most often reanimating a fetch land for a free 5/3 and then fetching Dryad Arbor (which can block for another 5/3!)
Primeval Titan = ramps for 2 when entering play, but nearly always fetches Thespian's Stage and/or Dark Depths
Mox Diamond = an extra mana, nearly free with Life from the Loam hanging around
Phyrexian Tower = very potent combined with Veteran Explorer or Dryad Arbor
