This deck is a little unorthodox, but I feel that it could be a good fit in the current Meta. There's far too much greedy mana hanging out, and too many people latching onto Mana Confluence without thinking. The time is ripe for burn and Burning Earth to rack up free wins. The deck revolves around Dictate of the Twin Gods, Boros Reckoner and its punishing cards. I called this control in the title, but Punishment would probably be a more accurate description. Between Burning Earth, Eidolon of the Great Revel, Toil // Trouble, and Skullcrack, this deck can really hurt a lot of different strategies. Most of the sideboard is in fact adjusting your punishment to the particular matchup. I also called it combo because if you do flash in Dictate of the Twin Gods, you will probably win the following turn. This works particularly well with Boros Reckoner, as even a lowly shock or Magma Jet becomes a fearsome 8 damage with those two on the board. There is even an infinite damage combo if you give Reckoner indestructible with Boros Charm and then hit it with any burn spell. You can redirect damage to it infinitely and Dictate will double the damage each time until you decide to finally point it at your opponent. You may hit yourself with some incidental damage via Burning Earth and Eidolon of the Great Revel, which is why you have access to so much lifegain. If your meta would suit a black splash, Rakdos's Keyrune and Evolving Wilds would really help enable this. Of interest to this idea would be Rakdos's Return, Sire of Insanity, and more Toil // Troubles. Maybe even Mogis, if you're feeling spicy. But the plain Boros works fine too.

looks nice, you can't use evolving wilds in the current standard though, it was m13. For Mana Fixing i would recommend some combination of Sacred Foundry, Godless Shrine and Blood Crypt

Wow. I did not realize they ever printed a core set without it. Well that's obnoxious, it was helpful for avoiding damage from Burning Earth. If I put shocklands in there I'm basically going to kill myself. Take 2 off putting it down and 1 every time I tap it? That's miserable.Believe it or not, this really hurts my strategy
you would take damage from your temples anyway so you might as well make sure you mana is perfect... and if evolving wilds taps while burning earth is in play you loss the 1 life
The temples make me take damage from burning earth just the same as the shocklands. Let me put it this way: I can't afford to ever pay the two life from the shocklands in a deck that hurts myself as much as this one, so I should probably just run the temples. The scry helps too.
