No reason for Huntmaster. I also don't really see the value of Jace in a completely tempo oriented list like this. You should consider adding some Mishra's Baubles. They replace themselves, add to delirium and Tarmogoyf.

In addition (although I acknowledge the mana may need blue for cryptic command) Raging Ravine is better than Wandering Fumarole.

Nice deck. I always thumbs up actually competitive decks.

That is good art, thank you. If we move up to 6 cmc I will keep that in mind.

Good rationalization on Thought Knot Seer. I still don't agree on Matter Reshaper though. I don't think it does enough specifically for an aggressive deck, but I have a mana hungry Coco/midrange deck that it's obviously unbelievable in. And the other nice thing about cutting it is that it would decrease your dependence on colorless mana a little, so you only needed it t4 or t5 (which, btw Corrupted Crossroads looks fantastic here, so good job).

Not so sure about Dust Stalker. It might be good but I would hesitate to crowd your deck any more with high cmc cards. Other than Thought Knot and Reality Smasher I would want almost everything else to be cmc <=2. Between the choice of not deploying all your spells before they stabilize or running out of gas not deploying all your spells is much worse for you. Plus you already have abilities like kicking Bearer of Silence, moving around equipment and best of all using Sea Gate Wreckage to keep yourself busy if it does happen. BTW I would try to put some reach in here. Maybe Blighted Gorge instead of Fen?

Oh and I forgot to tell you. I am also a Keegan!

Nice deck. The following recommendations are assuming it's for Standard.

I would play the full 4 Reality Smashers and Forerunners of Slaughter. I am unsure whether Vile Aggregates or Flayer Drones are worth playing. Thought-Knot Seer seems like a sideboard card (bad against Abzan, good against Jeskai) and I don't think you should play Matter Reshaper in this deck.

I mean sure you can say that, but just 4 cards different? I would consider playing U/W with 4 Planar Outbursts and 4 Scatter to the Winds as your wincons to be the same archetype. The same number of Anticipates, Celestial Flares, Secure the Wastes, Horribly Awry, Ojutai's Commands (without Jace) and all the other slightly niche cards cannot be a coincidence. It's not even early enough to call it an established archetype if there's only 3 decks in events that you can compare it to. Oh and the sideboard is nearly identical.

Maybe I am being a dick. I accept that. All I'm asking is that you provide a source in the description.

This list is a blatant copy of Will Erker's deck from SCGIndy that Jim Davis wrote about on Starcitygames this week. The only difference is trimming several cards for a playset of Hangarback Walker which honestly only makes the deck worse.

If you're going to copy something give them some credit in the description.

Add 3-4 Artificier's Epiphany, it's instant speed Divination.

If you're dedicated to red than you should be including Fiery Conclusion or Shrapnel Blast.

The deck needs both better mana and Darksteel Citadel ( I know, counterintuitive.) Grab 4 Swiftwater Cliffs and the 4th Shivan Reef. If you can afford it, pick up some Temples of Epiphany.

4 Negates is at least 2 too many.

Sidisi's Faithful, Turn to Frog, and Descent of Dragons are not really worth including.

A lot of decks besides control played Ojutai actually... Bant, Jeskai, etc. Did you even watch the Pro Tour?

Although I will agree that the deck needs better mana and caryatid is the easy way to get it.

Transguild Courier is A+ material, especially with the Civic Sabers that another commenter suggested. Good job tom.

Knight of New Alara is another option, but Civic Saber seems best.

Thanks for the nonbo tip. Wasn't thinking.

Not a fan of Corpse Weft, I already have too many slow enchantments, all of which are better.

Not sure about Gurmag Angler. He is quite playable, and was originally in the deck, but my arguments against him can be summed up as:

Cost is high (even with delve, I don't have Satyr Wayfinders)
Land count is low (maybe too low)
Largest non-recursive creature will immediately attract a removal spell

I will consider both of your suggestions though. Thanks for the comment.

Dude, use the other Kolaghan. If you have Dragon Tempest out you can cast it instead of dashing it and it still has haste, and if you attack with another dragon it will give +2/+0 to both. The card represents a minimum of 5 damage and maxs out at a number upwards of 40 with Descent of Dragons. Also, you should definitely use Rabblemaster and/or Hordeling Outburst for Descent of Dragons. They're good replacements for Master of the Feast, although that card is cool with Dragon Tempest.

Hey can you check out this Standard B/R zombies deck? I think it has a lot of potential, so I'm shamelessly promoting it. Thanks! http://www.mtgvault.com/kmk888/decks/br-zombies-are-good/

No worries man, they're reprinting Emrakul in MM2, might cause the price to drop. I see you added Madrush, so that might help the fast win. But I still think you should be playing 4 Craterhoof. He's just too good alongside token strategies, the value is in the fact that you can hardcast him.

I also am not sure you have correctly done the math on how much damage he does... Multiple Craterhoofs that enter the battlefield at the same time EACH give each other and themselves a bonus. They scale in a function f(x) = 5*x + x^3, where x is the number of Craterhoofs. Now you may not like math, so I'll explain. 2 Craterhoofs at the same time both give a bonus of +2/+2... to each other and themselves. That means that they each get +4/+4, meaning you attack with 2 9/9s. 18 damage is not shabby at all, especially if you got some token hits in. 3 Craterhoofs, like in your example, means that each one gives a bonus of +3/+3 to each other Craterhoof and itself. That's a total of +9/+9, not +3/+3 like you thought. You have 3 14/14s and attack for 42 damage, not 24. And finally all 4 gives you a bonus of +16/+16 to each Craterhoof, so you're attacking with 4 21/21s. 84 damage with trample and haste... needless to say your opponent is very very dead. You really have to try them out to believe them.

I don't know if you're into Standard, but maybe you could look at this zombies deck? I think that it has a lot of potential, so I am shamelessly promoting it. Thanks! http://www.mtgvault.com/kmk888/decks/br-zombies-are-good/

First of all, congrats on both making a good deck and getting to the front page. They're hard to do individually and in tandem.

Now some deck critiques. I think that you should focus more on the token game. The core here is quite good (See Beyond, Raise the Alarm, Path to Exile, and Elspeth with Polymorph effects and some cool bombs) but I don't think green is adding much and I don't think you've focused on the right part of the build. Ramping is fine and good, but you're not hard casting Worldspine, so what are you ramping for? Mass Polymorph? I think that you could just play the normal Polymorph and eschew that part of the build entirely. Instead, you can play Esper tokens with Polymorph and Emrakul... That would probably be more competitive, although I understand if you don't want to shell out the money for that. If you wanted to do that, I would start with 4 Lingering Souls, 4 Raise the Alarms, 3 Polymorphs and 1 Emrakul and see where that takes you.

On the other hand, one reason I could see for playing Mass Polymorph is if you were getting creatures that won on the spot... Like Craterhoof Behemoth! Mass Polymorph out just 2 of those bad boys and attack for 18! 3 for 42 damage! And 4 Craterhoofs at once is a whopping 84 damage! Plus, with ramp and tokens Craterhoof is just a great card to hard cast. You should also put more token makers in place of Ghostly Prison and Day on Judgement, as the tokens will protect you enough by themselves. Try Spectral Procession or Midnight Haunting for flyers and Martial Coup for a more fitting boardwipe that benefits from ramp.

if you wanted to be hardcore, you wouldn't rely on combat damage. Mass Polymorph out 4 Biovisionaries! You could put Mirrorweave in it too... That's the kind of shell casual players can fall deeply in love with.

That's true. So only play one of the combo creatures and make the rest value based, like pod did. The recipe for success in modern combo decks is not relying on the combo. See: Pod, Tarmotwin
