Deck Description

U/G Level - Balance between green ramp and blue control

Echo mage makes Green Sun's Zenith, Cultivate, Into the Roil and Unsummon VERY fun. He can also be used defensively against burn-decks or other sorcery/instants, as an example:

Someone throws a fireball at you -> you counter with mana leak -> you copy the fireball twice! (top of stack = resolves before the counter) -> Result = you return 2 fireballs and get hit by none, for {u}{u}{u}{1}

Sideboard: Added venerated teachers and walls against wheenie/aggro-decks because using counterspells/unsummon against those would be overkill a lot of the time. Also added spell pierce/negate against creature-less decks.

Please feel free to comment, preferably in a constructive way. For other level-decks see my profile.

Deck discussion for U/G Level

Very interesting. However, I would add overgrown battlements in place of the companions, and maybe some acidic slimes in place of the pack leaders. The battlements just help with mana and the acidic slimes destroy your opponents lands. Training grounds are also questionable. Maybe some Lotus Cobras if thats not out of your price range?

Interesting thoughts, must admit Lotus Cobra are a bit too expensive for my liking (just ordered some Zendikar boosters, so who knows if I'd pick up one).

I see your point with training grounds, and I will agree they are not needed, as my deck looks right now (was more expensive creature abilities earlier), so I will take them out for some Overgrown Battlements, and change some forests for islands, to better balance my mana pool.

So:
-4 Training Grounds
+4 Overgrown Battlement
-2 Forest
+2 Island

I've got the Pack Leaders for card-drawing together with the elephants, and the companions because It's 2-mana 3 power, which suits well with the Green Sun's Zenith (most creatures here are 2-mana) and Pack Leaders.
