Deck discussion for Awaken the Beast

I like it! I think slumbering dragon is an awesome card. Haven't gotten to use it tho. But Have it in my sideboard for when I'm facing offensive opponents. Check out my deck at: http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=371807

Consider Blessings of nature for 4 counters at miracle cost. Not too sure what you would take out

I use chandra and volt charge as a tag team. Her -2 ability with volt charge sort of cancels out due to proliferate. This might be a better example of how I use them. http://www.mtgvault.com/ViewDeck.aspx?DeckID=368704

Umm you should consider including Deranged Outcast in your deck. Just imagine:
Turn 1
Slumbering Dragon
Turn 2
Deranged Outcast
Turn 3
Sacrifice Deranged Outcast play Hunger of the Howlpack for Morbid counter= 5 +1/+1 counters

Also you should really consider "Aggravate" on your deck :). Here is the link to a similar deck I brewed a while ago.

whats with chandra, the thundermaws and bower passage? just felt like like slowing the deck down?

Bower Passage works well with fliers because it prevents my opponents fliers from blocking. Thundermaw sort of does the same thing. Chandra's -2 ability works well with volt charge and proliferate and since I'm dealing with counters, well you get it.
