Deck Description

This deck is a mono blue mana ramp deck focusing on field clearing control, deck control, and proliferating. Between the proliferation and the grand architects this deck mana ramps extremely fast, allowing all of its win conditions to come out rapidly. You have Jace, Preordain, and Enclave Cryptologist for some AMAZING deck control and draw power, and the rest is just playing smart and knowing when to blow ratchet bombs.

Win Conditions:
1. Mindslaver.
2. Wurmcoil Engines.
3. Jace's final ability, which is hastened by moderate proliferating.
4. BLIGHTSTEEL. Get two chalices out, proliferate a couple times. That with two architects typically = one shot robot.

How to play:
Notice the low amount of counter cards in the deck. The player must know what theyre playing against so that they may know what cards to use their few precious counterspells on. A baited and wasted counterspell can easily result in a game ending combo from your opponent, you wont have the spare counters to double up on in this deck like you would with most blue control.
Once you get to turn three, your deck should start accelerating rapidly. At this point your main priority is sitting on your counters and setting up your defenses to keep you safe while your mana ramps out the window. Before you know it your Jace will be on the field, and from then on you can steadily control your opponent, proliferate, and cruise down easy street from there. Once you have around ten mana its time to think about dropping the trinket mage for a blightsteel, if your wormcoils havent shredded them to pieces by then. Game over, bro.

Deck discussion for Blue Artifacts

Thrumming birds may seem out of place, let me list the benefits.
1. Great FLYING chump blockers.
2. Can proliferate if needed.
3. EASY mana for grand architect.

This deck has amazing deck control and i can see this having blightsteel out turn 5, turn 4 under the right conditions. I would maybe put in one more stoic rebuttal and take out an island, because by turn 5 or 6 you will be mana accelerating so much that a land would be almost like a dead draw.

Thank you, and your suggestion is greatly appreciated. Im pretty sure I agree, after some more playtesting Im near certain I'll come to the same conclusion. Mana isnt a problem in this deck like it is in most blues, and the extra stoic could be a game winner.

I would need to run two tezzerets if I did. This would mean either a) adding in two sphere of the suns, or B) adding black mana to the deck. With the addition of black mana I might as well make it another typical U/B Control deck, and thats not what this deck was about. Its about mana ramp, infect, deck control, and proliferate. Basically, to add the Tezzerets I would either need to make space for at least five cards or incorporate swamps.

Have you considered cosi's trickster? 1 blue mana 1/1 whenever a player shuffles their library you put a +1/+1 counter on it then with proliferate you have a good chump blocker that will hit back. sure the cryptologist is good but it doesnt hit back and most likely you will be tapping it for mana not to draw a card and with preordains and jace your hand should stay pretty full. just a possible suggestion.
