Deck Description

A Standard format Illusion deck. Any ideas? I might run this at my next FNM when I get the cards. I would also like to say thank-you to everyone who has supported me and helped my deck building skills grow.

Deck discussion for Illusionary Might

With such a low curve, I don't see the need for 24 lands. Consider dropping at least 2 and replace them with 2 more Porcelin Legionaires, they're presence on the board are a great early threat.

I don't see the need for 24 land either. I just usually have 24 land in my decks. I guess it is a habit. Thanks.

I used to build that way before, too. 24 is a flat 40% and its easy to balance color dispursment after that. But why a difference it makes once you move off of it.

I know. It changes the deck. What is the lowest amount of land that should be used in a deck, with it still being able to run well?

Withe mono blue, you should be able to go 21 or 22. Typically, because of the lack of accel in blue, you can't really afford to go less than 21.

After 9 years, I still believe 20 lands is enough.
Turn aside is very useful for saving your images!

as a heads up if oyu didnt know, turn aside and other counters dont save illusions, as them merely being targeted triggers the sacrafice, regardless of if the spell resolves

nice! I like illusions because they're so cheap to cast and their so strong until they get targeted by a spell and with hexproof or shroud they're just cheap versions of another creature! :).

I would run 4 phantasmal images. You want them as often as you get a lord of the unreal so you can copy the lord as it comes in to permanently protect your illusions and pump them more.

Cavern of souls, snapcaster mage and moorland haunt are a must have. Up the images to 4 and get rid of phantasmal dragon. If you add in moorland hauntr then add in a playset of seachrome coasts. Neurok Commando and grand archetect don't really fit in here, so I'd take them out. Other than that, I like it. I like it, it isn't reliant on the Illusions, but once it get Lord of the Unreal, getting 2-3 out pretty quickly is no problem

Could You look at the Illusion deck I made? (It's quite a bit different in the way it runs)

Whats nice in an illusion deck yet I have yet to see is Mistform Marchief. All illusions and what not would come in for 1 less. play 2-3 and that's your deck at 1 mana a card.
