Weld your way to victory! So this deck basically abuses Myr Welder's ability to the max. Ideally, you will be playing Myr Welder in such a way that he will shortly be indestructible and have super-shroud. Or not, it really depends on what you're playing against, this deck will most likely have the largest trouble against control (but what deck doesn't). When you play him, your first priority is to imprint a soliton and a khalni gem onto himself. Or a hellkite and start swinging, you have options. The Soliton / Khalni combo results in an infinite mana engine that decks your opponent. Soliton + Arbalest turns into a U: Deal 2 damage to target anything combo. The hellkite is just around to either get imprinted or be the baller mc ballertude that he is. To accelerate the deck, Riddlesmith is used to pass desired artifacts into the graveyard for welder to weld. To assist in this process, Tome Scour (once you have and have secured Myr Welder on the battlefield) mills yourself in hopes of hitting the proper guys (and with that many available targets, it'd be hard not to hit something worthwhile..). Ancient Stirrings is used pretty much just to get Myr Welder out, but you can also grab other useful things like an Arbalest or a Hellkite or a land with it. By turn 4 or 5 you should undoubtedly have a Welder acquired. Nicely, Soliton and Myr Welder both serve the purpose of being a damage engine with Arbalest, so even playing Soliton is perfectly acceptable if you have an arbalest to attach to him. -- Let me know what you think. Alternatives I was thinking of was putting in a Grindclock, taking one or two turns to amass charge counters on him (even like 6 or 7 would be ideal) and then from then on just nuking their library every turn for 30-35 cards until they lost. However I felt like that required a little bit too much time, whereas milling myself, using soliton to rapidly imprint everything I need, and then infinite mana comboing into a stroke of genius was a more consistent way to win. I was also thinking of running the deck blue/black with Necrotic Ooze, that way I would have 3 candidates for Arbalest blasting and in the event a welder was dead, I could have another set of welders.

Hey, Im sorry to rip your deck apart but myr welder does not get equipment powers because he is not technically equipped. Heres what happens, myr welder imprints heavy arbalest. he does not get the tap deal 2 damge ability because it reads that equipped creature taps to deal to damage. Myr welder is not equipped so the only ability he would get from that is equip 4

which I myself am trying to idealize that, heres what im thinking, put a bunch of nice equipments in the graveyard and one that has equip 1. Myr welder imprints them all then equips himself to another creature for a creature that is now unbeliveably powerful.
Right. The point would be to equip him (imprinted with soliton) or soliton with it and ping to death. Myr Welder receives activated abilities, not passive benefits, and therefore would not be able to equip himself to another creature as they'd get no benefit from doing so. Things I would consider imprinting on Welder: Steel Hellkite Grindclock Soliton Khalni Gem Titan Forge Lux Cannon There's probably some more but I can't think of them off the top of my head.
