Always been a fan of beatdown style bant, it's stupidly fun to play, while having a better game against combo than Dirt. How's it faring you without Spell Snare, or the Natural Order package? I've not been in for a season or two, but it seems like they'd still be as maddeningly powerful.Another good question is how is it faring in a post Abrupt Decay meta, that card is a serious hoser for beatdown decks.

All very good questions. I haven't actually built this yet, im play testing it. Im working on the old Bant counter slivers deck, with plans to turn it into this. It seems to do well in cockatrice, but abrupt decay is a massive problem. The only response for it is venser, and it just isnt very efficient. I'm not a fan of the whole natural order Progenitus thing personally, but im thinking it wouldnt be a bad idea to add black to this deck. I think adding a couple black sources could be GREAT. It would allow me to run 2 very specific cards: abrupt decay and thoughtseize. I think thoughtseize would be a great addition, since it can take those pesky decay's from my opponent, and help shut down combo, and really just anything. I think i may very well try to find a slot for spell snare as well, mainly to keep away stoneforge and other disruption like smallpox, hymn to tourach, snapcaster, etc.
Venser is always a neat response, but generally I prefer to just play Misdirection. It doesn't say Abrupt Decay can't target your own things :DBlack Bant can be really powerful, but in my experience it feels like you're playing a watered down version of either Bant, or Dirt. It's a lot more powerful if you keep to one or the other, just requires some tinkering about. Adding Abrupt Decay and Thoughtseize could work beautifully, but the thing you have to worry about other than dilution is the landbase.Spell Snare is a such hoser, it and Dryad Militant can be some seriously powerful tech depending on your meta.
Ya know, dryad militant has been rolling around in my head for a while now. At first i thought "hey , zoo!" but it would just kill of grim lavamancer in zoo. In here, that could be neat. And i must say, misdirection hadnt even crossed my mind. I dont know how i feel about having midirection AND force in here though, what with the whole two-for-one deal. Thanks for the advice!
Dryad is also a techy way to mess with Storm players, and Dredge. Blocking Ill-Gotten Gains, and Dread Return respectively.I can't blame you for not being sure about running both Misdirection and Force, it's quite risky, you're right. I've been keeping about three of them in the boards when I can swing it, but I can definitely feel it having both in a deck.
