Deck Description

Jund Rock aka Jund Scissor Hands. We play the classic Rock game plan of destroying our opponents creatures, ripping apart their hand, and having resilient threats (or in this case, lots and lots of recursion). The deck tries to maximize value through two for oneing the opponent with spell creatures and cards like kolaghan's command. Kibbler designed a similar list to my own, but i've expanded beyond the color parameter to play colorless and run one of the strongest cards in standard: thought knot seer. Along with Kalitas and transgress the mind, we have enough exile effects to play wasteland strangler as a 2of. Kalitas is the all-star and inspiration for the deck, and one of the most powerful cards printed in oath. Again, every one of our removal spells represents a 2 for 1 with Kalitas in play, and we can snuff out many of the format's best with the incidental exile ability: Hangarback walker, matter reshaper, and the premier 4c Rally decks. Risen Executioner is here as a 1-of to maximize the kalitas' plan and to add yet more resiliency, especially in concert with murderous cuts to sculpt the graveyard. This deck also gets to play one of the best two drop creatures in recent memory, sylvan advocate, which scales perfectly into the late game and transforms our hissing quagmires from rattlesnakes to formidable threats. Notice also that sylvan advocate's enlarged form can block siege rhinos and tasigurs, and survives grasp of darkness. Pretty cool.
