Yet another way to break tainted remedy. This version is a reanimator deck with Laquatus's Champion as the kill card.I wanted to keep it mono black but I am not sure if I should splash white or blue for some protection or not. and gifts ungiven as well.can go off on turn 3-5 but not consistently. As always comments and suggestions are welcome. I could really use some advice on this deck.I honestly believe this could be a very good deck with the right pieces to make it more consistent.
get out tainted remedy, and use buried alive to put a few Laquatus's champions in the graveyard.either use living death or wake the dead to bring the champions to the battlefield and have your opponent lose massive chunks of life.if needed play cabal therapy on yourself to put your champions in the graveyard if you have already drawn them, and flashback to hit your opponent if you have a champion out.and if all else fails then use living death to flip the board in your favor.

NOTE: Set by owner when deck was made.
It seems iffy... unless I'm missing something, you dont have any way to get Tainted out outside of drawing it. And With Champion as your only lifegain, you run the risk of getting run over before you can do anything or get the right cards in grave/hand.

perhaps I might take out mental misstep for a transmute card.
That should work a little better.
also swapped out dash hopes for some hand disruption.
This seems ... well, it doesn't seem to be centered around Tainted Remedy at all. There's nothing in there to give your opponents life "gain" for TR to affect, at all. So if THEY don't have lifegain? TR is a dead card in this deck.If you just want to prevent the opponent from gaining life, there are other ways. Better ways, IMO. For example, [Erebos, God of the Dead].Also, only 16 lands in a 60 card deck, with CMCs of 5 and 6, and no artifact or creature mana sources? That's just asking for trouble, IMO.
not true. the goal is to use Wake the Dead to reanimate Champion, which has 2 abilities.the first of which has target player lose 6 life when it enters the battlefield.the second ability has that same player gain 6 life.So you have at least 2 in the graveyard, it is an instant kill at the end of the turn you play Wake. it is a combo deck.I also only need 1-3 lands to fully play the deck, so I can afford to run a low land count.
what would you suggest that I change?
Hmm, that's a synergy I didn't at all see, I admit. It does rely on a rather large chain of steps to pull it off, though. And seems more centered around the Champion, than TR, still.
it certainly does seem that way, however the deck is designed to make the combo happen in as many ways as possible.
How do you feel about tossing in some dragonskull summits and some sulphurous springs, and running faithless looting, just as another way for you to T1, draw into more combo bits and also dump the champs if you need to? Just an Idea. Don't even know if the deck needs any more consistency.
I had not even thought about that. Faithless looting might be very good. The real question would be what to take out for it.
Cabal therapy. Its only really good when you know the matchup better/ the deck your facing. It also would be doing the same job as faithless looting game one. You can side out the faithless looting and a bit of the other graveyard filling effects, I.E. birdied alive.I hope this helps. :D
interesting. I did have Cabal Therapy in here to discard champion already. but faithless looting is also a very good option. hmm.... but I also really like the flashback for Therapy as it allows me a sac outlet. such a tough decision... :(I am going to have to proxy and test the deck with both in it to see which I think is better. for now I will put Dragonskull summit, sulfurous springs and faithless looting in the sideboard.
also, would you say living death or living end is better?
death, end gives your opponent too much time to play around it.
