first foray into sac/persist decks. figured that quilspike would be a good combo card for it. However, it isn't set in stone. Still just a concept, so I would really appreciate feed-back so that I can make this the best that it can be.
this deck is really my pride and joy as far as casual play is concerned. The concept is really simple:step 1: get out a murderous redcap as quickly as possible.step 2: sacrifice it for bloodthrone or seer, and then remove the counter with quilspike. everything else is just icing on a very yummy cakeOverkill: swap quillspike for melira, and my persist creatures wont come back with the counter, thus making it free to use it an infinite amount of times.

Awesome concept! I didn't know about it before. I believe you want gravepact more than Butcher of Malikir because it costs so much less, but then again you don't have any non basic land so the three black might be hard for you. In general for a mana curve like this I'd suggest 24 lands overall.

havent really found mana to be a huge problem, but I keep hearing from people to up it to around 23-24 or so. I will certainly look into it. My biggest problem with it though is what would I take out to put in the extra lands?
This deck has simple simple fixes to make it even better. this deck is awesome already. 2-3 copies of heartmender. that should seal the deal. OH WAIT!!! THERE IS AN INFINITE COMBO WITH THIS DECK. Melira, Sylvok Outcast. HOLY CRAP. Put in 3-4 copies of her? Why? Because you can do this combo. Play Melira, play viscera, then play murderous redcap. sac murderous redcap infinite times. kill your opponent, thanks to melira.
dang... I didn't think about melira in here for that. I can do a somewhat more limited version as is, with the quillspike, but the melira seems like it would be a good addition too. I like the heartmender, but for what I want to do, it seems les helpfull than the quillspike. But, I will certainly look into it. :) I really like heartmender after looking at it. way good card.
oooh, and I could be real nasty with the primus too. hehehe...
