Ok so help would be awesome here. The concept here is to exile your own creatures with the coffin and then wait and blow up the board with bearer of the heavens, bringing back the exiled creatures and clearing the opposition of any kind of defense. If anyone has any ideas on the list below, that would be great. What this deck needs:Cheap creatures that would be beneficial to exile and then bring back.Work ins for giant growth and the red equivalent. (can't remember what it is called.)Early game protection. Thanks to lycandros for helping me find Flowstone Blade to replace Sangrite backlash.and as always, comments and suggestions are welcome. good suggestions will be taken, and the deck changed.Update: Helvault added to sideboard, because I think that it is a better card than the coffin. :)
First step: Play cheaper creatures and exile them with the coffin, and copy the ability with rings of brighthearth so that you can exile 2 creatures with a single coffin. Then kill bearer of the heavens. Which brings back everything I just exiled, while clearing the board of everything on your opponent's side of the board. Regaining my lands with lodestone bauble.

This is a great idea. Then, bring in a bunch of temporary exile spells and go to town Master Biomancer anyone? Lol!
I would run Safe Haven over Tawnos's Coffin, being a land plus not costing that much to use it's ability is great as well. Also you could run Crucible of Worlds to then recast Safe Haven from your graveyard and to protect permanents you could also run Oblivion Ring or Ghostway to blink Bearer of the Heavens or protecting a permanent you don't want to lose.
interesting... I might just run both, for consistency. :)although I have to say that I don't like safe haven as much because I have to sacrifice it for my creatures to come back, where as the coffin just has to either untap or leave the battlefield. On the other hand, it is way cheaper to use, seeing as how it is only 2 mana, and I can reuse the same card for multiple targets, which is a plus.Isn't there a card that copies activated abilities?
The only bad thing about Tawnos's Coffin is that when Bearer of the Heavens dies it will destroy everything including Tawnos's Coffin. If wanting to use Tawnos I would run Phylactery Lich making him and Tawnos both indestructible so Bearer of the Heavens ability goes off they both will be protected. Down side, three black mana to cast it is a downside in a multi colored deck.
actually, that is the exact effect that I want from bearer. It destroys everything on the field, which in turn brings back my exiled creatures. leaving my opponent wide open, because he has no lands or creatures to block with.
Flowstone embrace for your toughness lowering
thank you, I will look at it. :)
http://www.mtgvault.com/lycandros/decks/and-the-world-burns/ A deck I built around blowing up the field in case it gives you ideas.
cool, I will look at it. also, flowstone embrace is good, but I think that flowstone blade might fit better. which I wouldn't have seen if you hadn't suggested Embrace. :)
Suggested embrace cause its +2/-2 for 1 mana activation instead of 1. Since the guy is 8 mana to cast I figured you'd have more than enough to enchant then drain toughness.
true, but it taps and so I can only do it once per turn. mana isn't a problem, just the limit on number of uses per turn... unless I am reading it wrong? I will look again.
Oh...oops, looked like a red mana symbol on my screen =/
If it had done that, I would have been all over it. but, flowstone blade is pretty similar. :)
Yup, Flowstone needs to come back. Very interesting ability.
agreed. I have seen a couple of creatures with it recently, but not too much. people like the normal pump or fire breathing instead. and don't like the -1 aspect of it I guess. but it could make for some interesting decks I bet.
They should bring it back as +2/-1 or +2/-2 so it can be considered over firebreathing like effects.
Ah I see ... board wipe, then bring your exiled creatures back into play. Great thinking! This deck will catch everyone off guard, and if you find creatures that can't be hit ...Congratulations, you have found a good use for Banisher Priest! I believe white is the best way to access both halfs of this equation.
Kazzong, is it okay with you if I make a U/W blink deck based on this one?
Sure. :). I don't see any reason why not.
Thank you good sir.
I can't wait to see your take on this concept. :)
It's brute force
what do you mean?
The red giant growth
OH!!!!! thanks. :) I still want to see if I can find a way to put that in here somehow.
