Deck Description

This experiment is based around Epic Experiment, and in a round about way, red/blue mana ramp... Of our as many creatures as you can, each cutting the cost of your instants and sorceries by 1. The more you have out the more epic the Experiment! Most of the deck either digs or burns, with some storm cards thrown in as finishers. And swan song to protect.

Sideboard has some cards I thought would be funny or good in the deck. Not a true sideboard.

Deck discussion for Epic experiment

I don't have much experience with RU, but it looks like a sound idea. Multiple reduction + mana ramp spells = a huge value for {X}, so storming sounds like a good way to win.

Yeah. Initially I thought : let's put tons of high cost spells, but then I realized that wouldn't work so well. Went for a little more streamlined mana curve.

You could get rid of two evolving wilds and replace them with Valakut, the Molten Pinnacle for better burn

interesting idea. although my problem with valakut here is that it really needs to built around, (Scapeshift ) and lots of mountains. I don't feel this deck really does either of those things. particularly since valakut itself doesn't count as a mountain. so it is ok, but not great in this deck.

my purpose in adding evolving wilds, as well as scalding tarn, is to thin my deck and be less likely hit lands with Epic Experiment. or rather I am more likely to hit instants and sorceries.

i can see where your coming from it would make the deck clunky thinking about it

well, I don't know if it would make it clunky. but it just doesn't add to what is already here. there are certainly good decks based around valakut. really good decks in fact.

I guess that it wouldn't make it any worse to have here. But I am not sure if it would make it.... better, if that makes sense.

i get what you mean i was just saying that Valakut would make the flow of the deck slower

OK. Yeah, it might make the deck flow a little worse I suppose. Mostly I feel it is... Not actively good or bad for the deck I guess.

That being said. Any thoughts on the instants and sorceries?

replace call to mind with Flood of recollection because it cost 1 less (does the same thing except FoR gets Exiled)

well that's pretty much it

the only problem I have with Flood of Recollection over call to mind is not so much the exile, but the UU cost. it is harder to cast even though it is cheaper. If I never draw more than 1 island I can't cast it. and if I have Baral or goblin electromancer out call to mind is only 1U anyways, and if I have both it becomes just U.
