Deck Description

Simple deck based on goblin welder being able to bring arcbound creatures back from the graveyard infinitely... With the help of Intruder Alarm of course. :)

As always comments and suggestions are welcome. :)

How to Play

turn 1: lay a mountain and play goblin welder.
turn 2: lay an island and play an archbound ravager.
turn 3: lay a land and play intruder alarm.
turn 4: play another archbound creature, and izzet charm to make sure that you put an archbound creature into your graveyard.

so at this point you have 1 creature in the graveyard, 4 lands out, 2 archbound creatures out, goblin welder out, and intruder alarm out.

from here you can use goblin welder to swap one of the archbound creatures on in play with the one in the graveyard. the creature entering the graveyard triggers the modular ability and lets you put a counter on an artifact creature. The creatures entering play triggers intruder alarm and untaps all creatures including goblin welder, which means that you can immediately repeat that process over again for as many times as you wish. :)

all other cards in the deck are really just here to fill support roles. either to get the ideal conditions for the combo, or to take advantage of the artifact nature of the deck. hence the steel overseer, which I can use to put an infinite amount of +1/+1 counters on all my artifact creatures other than the 2 that I am swapping back and forth with goblin welder. :)

Deck discussion for archbound junky

When playing with counters try and find a way to move or add them

Yup. :)

And I do have a way to move them AND add to them. Modular is a pretty sweet ability.

I know it rocks for artifact counters

But only if you have artifact creatures. Otherwise it is kind of useless. But build a deck around it... It can be pretty powerful.

Maybe you could add the artifact lands in your colors so you have more ravager fodder? :D

Um... Maybe. But I don't know if it really needs more fodder, since I can infinitely swap artifacts from graveyard to battlefield. :)

I might do it though.

Right, you do have infinite swapping, but why not make the deck a little more versatile and resilient when your combo is working? It's always a good idea to have a back up plan... :)

Hey Kazzong. You're putting a lot of creatures down. Golem Foundry?

I love the idea.

Oh, and some proliferate would be awesome.

Sadly the only problem with golem foundry is that it triggers when I cast an artifact spell, and not when an artifact enters the battlefield. :(

However, proliferate is awesome. But not sure how I would fit it in here.

Replace a card draw spell with one with proliferate.

Well there is one that has proliferate and draw for cheap. But I am certainly looking for something other than tez gambit. Too expensive at 4 mana.

Hmm ... there's one at 3 CMC

Yeah, steady progress. But nothing at 2 or 1. Although I was thinking of just losing the draw and putting in contagion clasp for straight proliferate.

Thrummingbird?

Not bad, but didn't fit with the rest of the other creatures. It isn't an artifact creature, nor does it interact with artifacts. Also, it has to deal combat damage to trigger, which is a little less flexible than just paying mana and tapping. By I shall consider it as well.

This is difficult...

I got it! Arcbound Overseer!

good card, but I think it is probably way to expensive at 8 mana. AH!!!!!! I GOT IT!!!!!!!!! Steel overseer. :)

Doesn't matter. You pointed out that my deck could improve, and helped me find the right card. Each suggestion got me closer to what the deck needed. And if you hadn't suggested archbound OVERSEER I wouldn't have thought of steel OVERSEER. :) so it really was your suggestion that made the difference. :)

By the way, liquimetal coating is fun with steel overseer. :).

I don't think I have seen any ornithopters, but I DID see a ton of memnites wandering around. If you hurry you might be able to catch them still. Fast little buggers they are. :)

And perhaps some masters of etherium as well...?

im sorry can u explain this deck allite more like add a 1- 4 turn step process

0

ok... I can do that.
turn 1: lay a mountain and play goblin welder.
turn 2: lay an island and play an archbound ravager.
turn 3: lay a land and play intruder alarm.
turn 4: play another archbound creature, and izzet charm to make sure that you put an archbound creature into your graveyard.

so at this point you have 1 creature in the graveyard, 4 lands out, 2 archbound creatures out, goblin welder out, and intruder alarm out.

from here you can use goblin welder to swap one of the archbound creatures on in play with the one in the graveyard. the creature entering the graveyard triggers the modular ability and lets you put a counter on an artifact creature.

hope that makes sense to you sgt89. :)

This is now like the fourth deck of yours that is basically just a better version of one of my decks. I appreciate that you seem to enjoy designing decks, as opposed to just googling 'whats the best deck' and changing one card to call it yours. You're the man kazzong.

well, thank you. I appreciate that. I look at deckbuilding like a puzzle with infinite ways to solve it. If/when I find a new piece that looks interesting or different, I build the puzzle around it. I don't care for net-decking even if what I build isn't "the best", I like building decks that look fun to me, regardless of what other people are building. My decks, done my way. :)
