Deck Description

My attempt at a heartless summoning deck comments are more then welcome.

*Added 2 Evil Twin thanks to MNvikings8 for pointing out their usefulness.
*Added Phyrexian Metamorph thanks to MNvikings8 (again) and Jayden_Cruickshank1 for convincing me that they were so awesome.

Deck discussion for The Heartless Onslaught

id take out the go for the throats wiht inkmoth nexus, wurmcoil engine and spellskite seeing a lot of play go for the thraot doesnt really do much

also id would ad some evil twin and phyrexian metamorph with heartless summoning on the field those guys can just wreck house and phyrexian metamorph is a phyrexian mana phantasmal image

you should take a look at mine and see what you think

also i find that 24 land is way to much i run 22 in mine and i always seem to have to much but if it works for you then by all means keep doing it

Yea I've noticed the surplus of land as well and was certainly thinking about removing some and Thank you I forgot about spellskites ability to simply negate go for the throat but I have been able to use them pretty well but if they become a problem I will certainly remove them but since i can still counter spellskite I'm not to concerned with it.
Perhaps Evil Twin I'm not sure about phyrexian metamorph but they would both help my creature base greatly thank you

anytime ive been playing around with this idea since innistrad came out and so far the blue black idea is the best i think but my deck and urs are very similar except u have more cancels and kill spells as where i have more creatures

Blue Black is definitely the way to go. The control plus the awesome game ending creatures is just to great to pass up. I went with less creatures just because i felt that most of these creatures are very powerful and can end the game quickly so no need to have more of them but it does make it take a little longer to get the creatures.

Oh btw I actually just learned that spellskite's ability can't effect GftT since spellskite is an illegal target.

I mainly felt like mentioning that because that actually makes spells like go for the throat more useful in my opinion since spellskite can't just take them away

yeah i know go for the throat cant target him but in cases where u wanna get ride of the spellskite before he become relevant then thats where you want doom blade or even dismember

yeah thats one of the reasons i have so many doom blades as well as go for the throat i love creature removal

yeah me to also i would really suggest putting in at least 2 phyrexian metamorph i was playing at the FNM and i top 2d with it because i was able to play either 2 frost titan or 2 wurmcoil engines on turn 5 because of phyrexian metamorph

I'm actually not certain about the consecrated sphinxs im not so sure all the dig is so necessary especially since sphinx isn't all the powerful so he won't help me much for the victory phyrexian metamorph may be a better choice. Any thoughts?

Well when i was playing with it the sphinx helped a lot it gets u that extra dig because with my deck i can kinda play out my hand kinda quickly so i need that dig to get through the land and he still is a 3-5 guy with flying after heartless summoning so he can do some damage or prevent some damage from say mirran crusader

also i dont know how well steel hellkite is in this deck but i dont know if he belongs in this kinda of deck and also i dont think you need 4 spellskites i run 2 in mine and it works out well for me but its up to you

honestly im not to sure about steel hellkite either but his pure destructive power is so nice sometimes and i dont like that i have 4 spellskites either but with my low creature count and no way, other then sheoldred to get them back i feel that spellskite protection is my only option. I'm wondering if their are other creatures worth putting in here im gonna have to look into it a lot.

i found out that phyrexian metamorph works pretty well agianst wolf-run if the throw out a sword of feast and famine then u use him to copy it and use it agaisnt them also u can us him to copy frost titan with phyrexian metamorph i have been able to get either 2 frost titans or 2 wurmcoil engines out on turn 5 when that happens theres not much ur opponent can do

i have phyrexian metamorph in my sideboard just in case of those instances, i found out that myr superion is a nice addition since he can be dropped for free after 1 heartless summoning hits the field.

if u like myr superion in there thats fine i just dont like him cause he seems like a dead draw most times

He is dead draw until my heartless summoning hits the field but since the deck is based on heartless summoning i figure i should have one plus there are only 2 myr superions in there and i can swap them for the metamorphs if i need to

To be honest, I don't use myr superion. It's a dead draw unless us have HS out. I'd replace them with metamorphs.
