Deck Description

This deck is a fun deck designed to force tie games. No gentleman actually beats his opposition... they play a gentleman's game. Seriously though, this deck is used to troll opponents that are way to into the game. Just keep looking at them and ask if they mad.

Sequence of events: Tutor out Abyssal Persecutor, Platinum Angel, and Pestilence. Get both your own, and your opponent's life totals below 0. Then drop the Prowling Pangolin to tie the game.

Sideboard added just in case someone can murder the creatures before their time.

Deck discussion for A Tie Game is a Gentleman's Game

I hit the random deck button, and consistently it brings me to your workmanship, and it is consistently spectacular! The only flaw in this deck(seeing as it is not intended to actually win), is Lich's Mirror.

Also, I'm refreshed to see a deck WITHOUT any plansewalkers... Though helpful, no planeswalker will ever top the might of a good arcbound deck. Especially with cards like distortion strike, and phantom warrior in blue now.

Honestly, I have no idea how they work lol. I made this deck after a friend and I were trying to figure out ways to stall an opponent to a tie game. Eventually I thought of this deck and built it accordingly. What is really funny is, that it works. I've gone to a couple card shops with this and can almost always (unless I get a garbage hand) get to the 4th turn with Abyssal Persecutor and Pestilence in play.

Just a fun deck when trying to break up the monotony of the cookie cutter.

Yeah I have to agree, this is a very nice deck. Took some time, effort & thought I see; I compliment the use of your Prefrontal Cortex. Kudos! This would be an interesting one to play against, it'd be hella' fun. Goodjob, time for somes stars. 9.5. I always rank higher for people who don't use cookie-cutter builds & use their brain. Well done.

It is quite fun to play actually. It takes some time for an opponent to realize what you are doing and even if they have the means, they rarely can stop it, as the deck works surprisingly fast. I really do suggest building it and playing some friends. It is really great for annoying those that boast about their decks being amazing or all that and a bag of potato chips (you know the type).

Good luck and thanks for the comment and rating!

The only tie game i ever had was a changeling deck i had created put against an angel deck. I cloned a platinum angel and the deathless angel or whatever and we both just sat around until we ran out of cards in our deck.

Trying to deck both of us was my first idea, but then a friend of mine mentioned this Abyssal Persecutor. Since I have a hard on for black, I liked the idea of building a deck to force a tie. Thanks for the comment!

The abyssal persecutor doesn't stop you from losing though. If your life goes below 0 you still lose.

But the Platinum Angel does...

I am quite a fan of this deck. It's too bad you can't splash white for the ultimate gentleman's card: Divine Intervention...which leads me to wonder what happens when you have Abyssal Persecutor and Platinum Angel out when Divine Intervention goes off. Since no one is winning or losing the game, I'm pretty sure it still works.

Anyway, good sir, I applaud you for your work. You inspire me.

ACtually it would be a tie as soon as one of you won and/or lost with both platinum angel or persecutor out. They themselves create an infinite loop, because they keep re-checking each others abilities unless someone can stop it instantly the game becomes a draw

Lol, I'd love to play this one on people.. One problem though... If you're going to have a sidedeck, it has to have fifteen cards in it.
