Deck Description

Looking for any comments on this deck, Thought up to counter a friends legacy Elf infinite mana/life gen deck. Price cap $1500, for casual play against any other decks.

How to Play

I guess there are a few win conditions
Fogmillchant
myr infinite mana combo for tokens or burn/destroy creatures with Comet
fog/chant/scepter search setting up 1 or two scepter with chant to lock out opponent
Ulamog cast with or without fog for annihilator effects

Obviously you can use tutors to search for essentially anything in this deck, they can also be sceptered. Main win cond is probably setting up one scepter with chant and playing for 2 with kicker to lock out opponent and search for myr for infinite mana

Deck discussion for RGWU FogMyr the Infinite

Those are some very expensive lands. You can easily cut the cost of this deck down by up to $700 just by replacing some of your lands with basic lands.

Alternatively (and still more cheaply) if you still think you need dual lands, you might consider cards like "Breeding Pool", "Hinterland Harbor", or "Sismic Growth Chamber".

Also, just as a note:
When you imprint a card onto "Isochron Scepter" and use it's ability to cast the copy, you can't pay any additional costs associated with that card, meaning you can't pay to use the kicker (i.e. you can't use the kicker at all if that was your plan).

I am fairly sure that the kicker as many forums say it is allowed

It would just be an ADDITIONAL 1w on top of the isochrons 2 tap

"You don't pay the spell's mana cost. If the spell has X in its mana cost, X is 0. You do pay any additional costs for that spell. You can't use any alternative costs." ~Official Ruling for Isochron Scepter

And all lands are already in possession so cost isn't bad at all

Isochron scepter tells you to CAST the spell. Kicker is an additional cost that you can choose to pay when you CAST the spell. Therefore you can pay kicker costs when using scepter. There are a large number of forums which say the same thing.

Kicker is an additonal mana cost, not an alternate, or (x), so you CAN kick it, the ruling posted states as much

alternate one.

From magiccardsinfo: 12/1/2004: You don't pay the spell's mana cost. If the spell has X in its mana cost, X is 0. You do pay any additional costs for that spell. You can't use any alternative costs.

"You do pay any additional costs for that spell"

"Isochron Scepter will allow you cast the spell in its original state. Alternate casting costs can't be used at that time. However, additional costs such as kicker may be paid when casting a card imprinted with Isochron Scepter."

Cheater!....4 Mystical Tutor is not legal in any format! xD seem not bad but vs competitive decks Isochron Scepter will be vulnerable to ''return hand'' effects, ''destroy'' effects, ''exile'' effects and ''counter spell'' effects. You should take a look at my deck named ''ultimate silence deck'', I got some more silence and some cards that help protect Isochron. I can also drop easily Isochron on first turn if I start with it in my opening hand!

Lol, again, this is for casual play among friends - This deck was meant more to be a turbofog variant, it doesn't really rely on getting scepter out really quickly, more of a stall deck though fogs, searches, and chants. Obviously it would have a very slim chance of winning against solely dispel/counterspell deck - but in many cases you don't need scepters out to win (although they do help alot)

Obviously sideboard would help for most decks - for this setup I've played against mostly melee green/token so against anything else I'd switch it up ie. Graphdiggers - Leyline of sanctity etc.
