Deck Description

Hate to deal with too many elves? A horde of goblins is coming? Zombie apocalypse? Don't worry, fire IS the solution for everything! (exept maybe for Eldrazis xD)

How to Play

The deck is simple: keep the battlefield clean with pyrohemia while your creatures take care of your opponent and protect your life.
It will work even better against red decks. ;)

The Helix and the Firewalker will help you mantaining your life higher than your opponent, and Tajic or the Doll will finish your opponent in a few turns.

Ensnaring Bridge will help you against decks with creatures "resistent" to pyrohemia, Vandal Blast and Rebuff the Wicked are helpfull against control decks.

The deck will start working at the fourth round, but has enought resources to survive until that. ;)

Hope you like it, suggestions are welcome :)

Deck discussion for Through the Fire and Flames

You can replace Vandalblast with Shatterstorm. It costs one less, and you don't have any artifacts.

yes but if my opponent plays just a single badass artifact i still have to pay 4 instead of 1 ^^

you know your creatures will still die from pyrohemia right? protection doesn't work against global effects.

No, protection means the creature "can't be blocked, targeted, dealt damage, or enchanted" by the thing it has protection from. Sure, Pyrohemia targets all his creatures, but the damage is nullified.

The deck looks great, except for Pulse of the Fields. That seems like a silly addition. If your strategy is working even a little bit that card will be dead. I would recommend maybe 2 Stuffy Dolls instead. Or you can up it to a playset of Path to Exile. Boros Charm could be welcomed too.

But really, nice deck!

Stuffy doll would make this rly fun. and if you don't care about legality, pestilence is rly fun.

I had a deck that was allot like this a few years ago, but mono red. it was a ton of fun. from my experience with that deck, i can tell you kmk888 is right, pulse of the forge is dead in here. also, dangerous wager is really good in decks that empty their hands fast, but these decks do not since your spending mana on pyrohemia. so i'd probably drop it aswell. though braid of fire is absurd with pyrohemia, with out it braid of fire is comletely dead. so i'd drop those down to 2. that leaves you with 6 open slots. 3 of those slots should be for idyllic tutor, as it grabs you pyrohemia if you haven't drawn it yet and braid of fire once you have. the last three open slots are up for whatever you find works best. in my list i found deep-slumber titan and war elemental to be allstars, so i highly recomend them. come to think about it, a 2 tajic 2 slumber-giant split might work better than the 4 tajic -- having playsets of legendary creatures can be awkward. at one point i ran akki lavarunner -- end of their turn wipe board with pyrohemia, my turn drop lavarunner and flip. he was allot of fun, though hilariously risky at times.
Nice deck overall, happy building!

Wow. +1 BrianBell. Seriously, every suggestion in this post is golden, dude really knows how this deck works. the Lavarunner is pretty risky though, especially when half your damage dealers are white anyways. I would just go for 3 Idyllic Tutors, 3 Tajics and 4 Titans. That will add some real punch to the deck.

Oh and there was one other thing I noticed, I'm not sure about Genju of the Fields. It seems to me you already gain enough life, and what would be better is more damage potential. It's not like you need Genju of the Fields toughness to be high either, if you just activate Pyrohemia during their turn when the mountain isn't a creature. Therefore, I'd recommend Genju of the Spires instead.

thanks kmk!
and yeah, i somehow totally missed genju of the fields in my first readthrough of the deck. definately drop them you're gonna need to deal damage more than gain life. in their place i'd probably run lightning bolts or burrenton forge-tenders, though genju of the spires could work aswell.

chain reaction or blasphemous act would be fantastic in here, pyroclasm can only go so far for field wipes.

What about burrenton forge-tender? Great deck!

I've seen a similar deck to this one in my local shop. Try out Porphyry Nodes in place of Path to Exile -if you need time to stall-. Turns out that it can be incredibly useful at keeping your opponent at a disadvantage in board state.

WAT. He's playing a deck that already kills all of the opponents' creatures and runs fairly low power creatures and you want him to add Porphyry Nodes? Are we thinking of the same card?

I can dig that considering he's running 4 Pyroclasm. He should definitely put in Relic of Progenitus or Rest In Peace in the sideboard for graveyard hate though.

So... No one even mentions the deck name?
First off, well done on the DF reference, that alone makes the deck worth looking at.
The only thing I think about sideboarding when I see a deck with weenie and mob control is a card that helps you take care of the really big baddies opponents will summon (such as the Eldrazi) is Boros Fury-Shield. It's underrated, in my opinion, and would do the trick in terms of STOMPy defense.

Pretty good. The only thing I can suggest is maybe bumping the charms up to 4 for the indestructibility. It helps to save against most board sweeps and can be used to save Pyrohemia from enchantment destruction. I's suggest taking Tajic out for them, he doesn't seem to fit (except for the indestructibility) imo.

The irony that this deck appears in the "hot" section at the front page.

doesn't braid of fires mana fizzle after your upkeep with the new rule changes?

yes, but i use pyrohemia during upkeep ^^

if you dont have pyrohemia it's dead, i'd really suggest dropping down to two or at most three, and just run another enlightened tutor and maybe something else in their place.
