run elvish piper deffinatly its a 1/1 it costs 4 one is a green mana. it has tap a green put a creature from ur hand into play. maybe put in broodmate dragon if u throw in the piper it would get u more tokens umm maybe some dragon fodder or goblin assault so u can devour them with the broodmother tokens take out a coat of arms yes think about the urza's lands and a tooth and nail.
unknownhunter763: Piper is completely useless unless you have a way to protect it. Whenever it comes out it has a giant target sign on it's head and being just a 1/1 and non-black it is incredibly easy to kill in many different ways. Basically, it would die the moment you either put it out or the moment you tried to activate it, then you wasted 4 mana. Justin: Protection is important for planeswalkers too as they can die by simple attack or damage spells or anything of that nature. I can also see how this deck would be pretty slow. Add in other creatures that may be able to keep your opponents at bay early on, Rhys is there but there are only 2. Braid of fire is useless since the mana will empty at the end of your upkeep and you will take massive mana burn (until m10 comes out). Add lightning bolt to deal with opponent's early creatures too (it's coming back in m10). While dragon fodder isn't a dragon it can help out early in the game and does have "dragon" in the name and makes tokens, that kind of fits your theme. Birds of paradise can help a lot in decks like this. Right now if you make it to turn 5 you'll likely win given you have enough life, if you don't (the more likely case) then it's a loss. Think about ways to speed it up and lower your mana curve.
Actually,Braid of fire is what make this deck fast, you are right about piper, not only that i only run 5 creatures. It has no problems except when it comes to damnation and wrath of god.Normally by turn 6 i have 45 dragons, and not the small 1/1's,i have 45 5/5 flyers, with coat of arms they end up being huge.I have found it to be really fast,i have had a bad hand where i dont get that many dragons tokens intill turn 8,but that happens ever 15 hand at least.I have played this against alot of decks, and the only problem it has is aginst Black or white.....and only if they have wrath or damnation...otherwise i think this deck works good.I am thinking about adding Garruk Wildspeaker, but not sure yet.
what are you going to do the first 6 turns of the match :S
sry but i don't think its all that great some mana accel would help it alot the seething songs are good but they cost 3 and i think that you could put a couple birds in there
thx smc and justin, the piper is a big target but usually wen i use her, i usually get at least 1 use out of her but i understand not running it, to big of a risk if u dont run early game protection like the fodder i would at least use fog or some other prevent damage spells
You know... I have a few Dragon Broodmother's and I was thinking of creating a deck EXACTLY like this... Most people play EDH these days so 60 card decks seem to be far and few between. Thanks for showing me those enchantments.. Some advice though, get rid of the instants/sorcery and put in Wirewood Channeler and Elvish Archdruids. The Channelers give you mana of any color and the Archdruids give you green mana and +1/+1 counters... This way you have shit tons of mana to create dragon tokens and/or elf tokens. Either way the added mana from creature cards cant be easily removed unless you are playing black removal and you can counter that with Asceticism x4... Or else put Asceticism in your sideboard... Furthermore... The only problem with having 4 Doubling Seasons is that they cost 23 bucks each card.. Not many people are willing to pay that... Although for this deck it is a necessity and would take up the majority of the cost of this deck... Imagine having 2 of those out.... Let alone 3 or 4.... Unbeatable comes to mind! Great deck idea... and I am probably going to try this out
As another sidenote... If you play green decks, there is the risk they run 4 copies of the card that removes all other enchantments....
I think you should add 3-4 green suns zenith, for obvious reasons, and replace highland weald with either raging ravine or copperline gorge.
