Deck discussion for TRILLIONS OF KITTIES

Not a bad deck using an interesting concept. my friend used to love nacatl warpride and use it quite often.

You can still do it. Were you going to put on the vault? If you do, I'll like it if you tell me.

It's really just I find a card I like and I find a way to make it work. :)

The best way to make a deck is to find a card and build your deck around that card.

I love when people try to take credit for combos that have been around forever. you can google search just about any card with the word combo after it to find out if there is a combo with the card, and how or why it works.

Hahaha! It says that your deck was posted on the 23rd of january, but in America, it's still only the 22nd. Confused me for a sec.

I don't take credit for these, I'm trying to see what people think I should change. :)

I have a question, if you had two battle steps in one turn, would each of your cats make that many more when they attack for the second time?

0
Posted 23 January 2014 at 02:22

I don't know. Ask someone else. :)

0
Posted 23 January 2014 at 02:24

yes, Adam. the trigger would happen on each combat step, assuming that the Nacatl attacked both times

0
Posted 23 January 2014 at 02:39

Keep in mind though, that the cat tokens don't have haste, so when they untap for the second battle step, the tokens could not attack, unless you had some way of giving them haste.

Do you think that this deck, The White Knight's Delight or 100,000 Goats is better? :) I'm trying to decide Which to make first.

Just finished looking at the three decks your asking about i think you should go with this one simply because its hilarious it'll build up very quickly and frankly its the firist cat based deck I've seen that will work really well. It should be amusing to see the face of opponents when you drop the warpride with parallel lives. great deck though. I'm looking forward to finding more from you in the future.

Something I missed when I looked at this the first time was the Beastmaster Ascension interaction. You do know that BMA doesnt trigger for the tokens created in the combat step, right?

also, the tokens created by war pride with doubling season dont stick around.

0
Posted 23 January 2014 at 12:24

I did not know about the ascension. And do the tokens still attack made with doubling season?

0
Posted 23 January 2014 at 22:05

yes, they still can attack. the reason that they do not stay, and can attack is that Doubling Season is not making the tokens. the Nacatl is still the source of the tokens, so everything that is true about the first set of tokens would be true about the set that is created because of (read: not BY) doubling season.

Sundial, of course, ends your turn with ETB triggers on the stack, clearing them before they resolve, leaving you with many kitties.

0

No, you can't. Sundial only works end of next turn clauses. Since Nacatl is end of turn those cat tokens would be removed at the end of your opponents turn. If you have an end of the next end turn clause then it works.

Haha Door of Destinies here is also not the optimal card. While you do actually cast some cats, its only 4 maximum a game. Coat of Arms would be so much better here because once the tokens hit the board they all get bigger, assuming your opponent actually has a few creatures. Maybe you should also add Forbidden Orchard so they are forced to have dudes and other abilities like it? Just a thought.

Sorry I make the door of destinies mistake a bunch thanks. :)

Totally fine bro! That's what this website is for lol. Very interesting decks tho

0
Posted 25 January 2014 at 04:25

Also, keep in mind that the tokens created are COPIES of Nacatl War Pride, and thus carry with them all abilites that are copied...including casting cost. this could allow for some nasty interactions with green devotion dudes, like Karametra's Acolyte and Nylea's Desciple, or just Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx to ramp out a fatty.

Haha! Good Call! Imagine Primalcrux with all those tokens!

Nice deck - needs sundial of the infinite to keep the cats, and I'd sooner use strionic resonator than parallel lives. But other than that, very good!

0
Posted 26 January 2014 at 13:45

I figured out that sundial does not keep the kitties because at the end of your opponent's turn they will go. Thanks for the other one though. :)

0
Posted 26 January 2014 at 15:03

they do not leave at the end of your opponents turn if you activate the sundial with the exile trigger on the stack.

0
Posted 26 January 2014 at 16:01

yeah, end of turn arrives, triggers go on stack, activate sundial, stack gets wiped. I use sundial in my Roon EDH deck for that exact chain of events, and it does work.

0
Posted 26 January 2014 at 22:44

But you can't activate it during your opponent's turn. If you can tell me. :)

0
Posted 26 January 2014 at 23:09

you dont need to. the trigger only goes on the stack once, and you exile the trigger with sundial

0
Posted 27 January 2014 at 05:16

Okay now I get it. Thanks:)

0
Posted 27 January 2014 at 05:37

You're wrong. It's explained above by me but if you use Sundial the cats will stay out and then the end of turn clause will trigger again at the end of the opponents turn meaning they would all be removed then.

0
Posted 12 February 2014 at 23:01

The only time this works is if it specifies the end of turn such as end of the next turn. End of turn clauses trigger at each and every end of turn.

0
Posted 12 February 2014 at 23:02

Okay I don't know so I'll just take it out. :)

0
Posted 12 February 2014 at 23:31

The cats do not have the end of turn clause, Nacatl does and it only specifies a single turn. So removing that trigger from the stack by ending the turn in your end step stops the removal of the cats. The clause only triggers at the end of the turn on which nacatl attacked, and is part of the attack ability, so the ability does not trigger at the end of each and every turn.

0
Posted 12 February 2014 at 23:46

I reads it and sundial does keep them, You are right it is part of the attack ability and you can't attack on your opponent's turn so I will keep it. :)

0
Posted 13 February 2014 at 00:09

Yeah, you're right. I misread that the tokens did not have the ability.
