Deck Description

I am trying to make a deck that is as good as it can be without it being extremely expensive ($2,500 or so) i will not make the rest of this deck at one time but buy it in bits as I get more money. Right now I am trying to make it a little less expensive so if anyone can help me It will be great! This is going to be a faerie control deck with some awesome creatures like scavenging ooze. the rest is control. I want this to be my best deck so please tell me what I should change!

Does the cmc matter?

Not really unless it is over four, I suppose if it's really good in this deck it could be five but not six for sure. :)

Maybe kalonian hydra or another good creature though not in green is dd

I don't think kolonian hydra but I forgot about dd, What do you think I should take out? :)

Scion cause in this deck it looks like you are using your fairys to control not to swing.

0

Why can't I use it to attack? I really use it to protect them from being killed and to make it that when I swing I can deal a lot of damage. :)

0

You an use them to attack it just seems that they would get killed easily even with scion

Just a Question: How thick are flyers in modern? Like just how many could they block? :)

So, is there something here that could be done with Oona herself? Or am I barking up the wrong plant here?

0

I'm not sure if she would be good, I think she is just a little to high in mana costing. Thanks so much for looking at this deck, Do you like it? And I'll try oona out. :)

Yeah, it seems pretty awesome, and i can't say you're missing anything big in the way of fae. Do you have any ways to gain life though? It seems like too many little pings that could ruin you in the end.

I do have scavenging ooze, But I was thinking the same thing, Do you like kitchen finks? :)

0

Maybe add some staff of the ______ magus to counterbalance the life loss.

Tarmogoyf isn't needed in the deck. You will be winning with fliers. I would take him out and put in something that deals better with creature kill or graveyard hate.

Thanks! Do you have any ideas? And do you mean something for creature kill like lightning greaves to protect my creatures? I have had it win me games though I have not tested something in it's place. Please tell me of something to take it out for. :)

Here maybe 1 tarm for 1 scion of oona, 1tarm for 1 bitterblossom, and 2 tarm for 2 kitchen finks? :)

I would get more abrupt decays. Also use remand instead of the counters you have:

- 4 tarmogoyf
- 1 Spell Pierce
-1 Spell Snare
+ 2 abrupt decay
+ 4 remands

Do you think so? I was thinking taking out 1 liliana because this is part way control and I just realized after a few games using her she is not as affective as she can be. I do not like remand but I'll try it. :)

0

remand is SO good, cause of the draw and delay factor. Even more so with Spellstutter Sprite as a more of a hard counter.

0

He may have a point. Try 4 mana leaks and three remands mainboard, while sideboarding the counter spells you removed for them. Of course, your sideboard could always use some classic sideboard cards like tormod's crypt and mindbreak trap. Also, I did find a card you might want to try. if you're feeling like blowing some money, get some vendilion cliques. They're fae, and they also can basically remove their prize card they need from their hand to the bottom of their library, avoiding the grave and drawing into it again.

0

I already have vendilion cliques, But thanks guys I'll try out remand, i know it's a really good card but I don't like it But if it does work in here really well I will put it in. And you said i should take out tarmogoyf? Oh and do you think I should put in another scion of oona? The're so good. :)

I would try it out. Flashing in a scion as consistently as you can isn't a bad thing, as far as I know. The only concern I see with this could be the suppression of other necessary cards.

with only a few targets (which are not even snapcaster worthy).

From that comment Couch312, it doesn't look like you looked at the deck very much at all. I tried it out and it did not work very well, and this is not just a control deck, it's more of a control them with your creatures so snapcaster would not be at it's best. :)

0

You're absolutely right, I didn't look at it much, I read control, saw no snapcaster and made the comment. So yes, it was a highly uneducated comment.

awesome idea! missing a couple cards, but they're pricy so that's probably for a reason. I don't have time right now, but I'll post on it soon. I love the deck!

Ok, I'm thinking that you should try snapcaster mages, (although their a bit expensive) sideboard surgical extraction, swap in at least one mutavault, throw in tarmagoyf, (also freaking expensive) and maybe a deathrite shaman. Sorry, my best decks tend to be the most expensive. And I don't yet know what you should take out. You should check out my newer black sacrifice deck. It's much better than it was before.

Okay thanks! yeah, no deathrite shaman but I did have tarmogoyf and like four people told me to take it out for remand and I really like tarmogoyf but it does cost a lot, but I'll put it back in. thanks for Sb I haven't done much work so I'll i'll put in the extraction. And I was going to put mutavault in I just forgot. :) As for snapcaster, I tried it out and it didn't work, Thanks so much i'll check out the deck! :)

Yeah I used to play legacy because my local game store had legacy tournaments every friday, but they closed for some reason, and I already was in the middle of making a deck, then I had to stop making it when it closed. But then a new store opened and they had modern tournaments every friday, and I don't know modern very well so I need lots of help for my modern decks. I am a lot better at modern than like a month ago, though. :)
