I wish I could take credit for this one. This deck idea came from a dude named Subject 134127 on tapped out; I modified it very slightly. I have never been a big Izzet guy so i started looking into various builds to study the philosophy behind them and came across this- just freaking beautiful- build. I have a little red pauper deck that runs the swiftspear and the assault strobes and stuff so this caught my eye. Turn 2 Kiln Fiend, turn 3 artful dodge, mutagenic growth, assault strobe with a dream hand.
Basically this thing comes hard and fast and gets through! That's the risk with some red aggro decks is that you can invest several spells into one attack and if your damage doesn't get dealt you're neutered. This deck has pretty good odds of getting through! I am stuck on the best counter options for this deck- I figure it like this, Kiln Fiend is going to be the target for removal (Fatal Push, Dismember) or bounce, and most of those spells will be instants so Dispel is good, but spell pierce deals with sorcery's as well so it is more versatile. I dont think at that stage in the game (turn 2) that there is any hope of having enough mana to run pact of negation; disrupting shoal is to iffy, force of will would be to high a price potentially having to give up artful dodge or nivmagus. Daze seems like a contender because the hard cast cost isn't that much and at least you get the land back ... not sure.

Adding Simian Spirit Guide would help you to get a turn 1 Kiln Fiend :)

Ahh! Nice! What do you think, maybe take out one swift spear, 1 faithless looting, maybe the sol ring? That would give me room for 3 spirit guides to increase the odds off getting him first turn.
Yes, I would remove the sol-ring to make the deck Modern legal.Depending on your meta you could decrease Vapor Snag.Artful Dodge could be replaced by Distortion Strike.
So far the deck has done ok, defiantly not the undefeated status I had hoped for but not bad. I've found that it has been running about 1 turn behind against top tier infect and have split games going against similar storm type builds.
