Detain.

May I suggest Banisher Priest and Gridlock? They help with Detain and can open up the ground of you need. And Sudden Disappearance is killer too.

Thank you for your suggestions, SlipperyDevil. I'm still learning to take my deck building to the next level so any advice is much appreciated.
Well my biggest suggestion would be to trim your creatures and add more spells. In my detain deck I've found Inaction Injunction, Lyev Decree, Martial Law, Sudden Disappearance, Gridlock, and Blustersquall all are extremely helpful since you can tap creatures that would just chump block you, or detain more serious threats. If I'm not running artifacts, my usual spread is: 16 creatures/18 spells/24 land, or if I am using artifacts, 14 creatures/16 spells/4 artifacts/24 land. This makes the mana curve more gradual especially since W/U decks have no form of land acceleration or ramp. Creature wise you may want to try Banisher Priest, Archaeomancer, Haazda Snare Squad, and Fiendslayer Paladin. Also Cancel, Unsummon, and Negate may be worth a look. Control is a staple of U and it pairs well with the protection W is notorious for providing. Oh and Angelic Edict may be another option, although if you're detaining everything and their dog, that might be a moot point. Anyways, that's all I have for now, hope this helps :)
I must ask, why aren't u running: flicker abilities (Conjurer's Closet ). And blind obedience? As flicker helps u to replay detain from a previously played creature. And Blind obedience slows their ability to block you, and if they have a haste deck (Rakos, or Garaul) it prevents them from attacking you on their opening play. Not like ur playing standard. So you can use Innistrad.
