So, I wanted to build a Nivmagus Elemental deck. And I also wanted to build a red heroic deck. And then I thought...holy crap, I can combine them! And here's the result.
It's simple, really. Get a heroic guy in play. (There are 8 one-drops, so ideally you can do this right away.) Then let them do their normal heroic stuff: pump up with +1/+1 counters, drop Soldier tokens, clear away blockers, etc. Lots of heroic-inducing instants and sorceries to get them there that multi-target and/or pass out first strike, double strike, trample, damage, and of course strength boosters. But there's more to it than that. Since we're playing a ton of instants and sorceries, why not benefit from that? Blistercoil Weird basically has one-turn "heroic" boosts when you trigger heroic for him or any other creature, and Nivmagus Elemental can exile instants and sorceries AFTER they trigger the Weird and any heroic triggers to boost itself. So, imagine this type of scenario:Turn 1: Satyr HopliteTurn 2: Nivmagus Elemental, Blistercoil WeirdTurn 3: Any three 1-cost instants/sorceries, 3 counters on Hoplite, +3 to Weird, 6 counters on Nivmagus, swing for 17Yeah, the scary part is that's very realistic, with fourteen instants/sorceries that cost only 1 red mana (and the other seven only cost two mana).Oh, and I did I mention the only spell here that costs more than two mana (and only costs 3 himself) also deals 2 damage to the opponent each and every time you play an instant or sorcery? Mwaha.Yeah, I have GOT to build this and try it out. It's dirt cheap, too!
